Hi Guys ! I'm wondering if you could help me.. I'm looking to buy some decent quality coffee for a Xmas present. I'm thinking more along the lines of Espresso or something full and dark, not cappucino's or latte's.. not beans but ground coffee that you can put in a coffee maker etc Ideally something I can buy online too Any personal suggestions or ideas of where to look for stuff like this would be massively appreciated ! Try some Starbucks http://www.starbucksstore.co.uk/espresso-r...rk-roast-coffee ^I love this one |

Hey Ben,
There are several dark routes go to - generally, the darker and oilier the bean, the richer in flavor but lesser in caffeine (not really a big deal). Honestly, buying whole bean and grinding it just before making it is the best taste you'll get out of coffee. If you really want to impress your friend, get him a pound of Expresso Bean (it's coffee), or the Christmans Blend from Starbucks, or the French Roast from Petes is really good too. And get him a coffee grinder to go with it! here's the espresso bean that I really like http://www.starbucks.com/coffee/dark/espre...oast/whole-bean If your friend is a coffee lover like I am, you won't go wrong with my advice above. Also tell your friend he needs to pour his first cup within 15 minutes of the brew. All coffee starts becoming bitter after that! Here's a decent guide for starting that first good cup o Java! http://www.traderjoes.com/how-to/coffee.asp Chris! P.S. There is also a really surprisingly good coffee that is fairly cheap at Trader Joe's (do you have those where you live?). If so, the French Roast whole bean comes in a large round canister (more than a pound?) - the beans are dark and oily, and surprisingly good for the money - it's a good savings to taste ratio IMO. This is my favorite coffee to buy. You can't go wrong with them.
http://www.greenmountaincoffee.com This Mystic Monk looks interesting. Smaller co. that makes small batches. I like the company logo and the way they describe their coffee. Never tried them personally but I think I might give them a try myself. http://www.mysticmonkcoffee.com/store/storefront.php -------------------- |

Thanks guys, that's given me lots to consider. I might look at the grinder route. It's actually going to be for my Dad as he's really started to get into making real coffee.

I had a grinder for a while. Coffee tastes even better that way in my opinion. That would make for great gift. -------------------- |
