Hi everybody yesterday I was sitting and thinking about music styles and what has inspired me over the years,there is so many great bands and players out there but not so many has really got to me as a few.

My first music experience that I have was a music company that sell record by postorder 1 record a month, and I saw this cool record called One More From The Road it was Lynyrd Skynyrd I bought it becouse it look cool.
Then I went to record store and heard Higway Star that really got to me I still love that song.

Next was a friends brother to me that had Led Zeppelin and Black sabbath record oboy man the riffs Toni is the king.

Then came kiss and I got poster all over my room and my father said w.t.f is that you call that music, I love them still.

After that it was Status Quo,Hurriganes,Rush and euruption with van Halen we played it over and over in school.
Then came Metallica and change my world,so fast so god I got an eargasm and those chugging guitars holy smoke.
Not since Metallica I have had that felling I got since I heard them the first time it was unlike anything else.

Then I started to play guitar and start listnining to Jimi Hendrix,Satriani,Vinnie Moore,Steve vai,Ritche kotzen.
Then it was Souther style again with Pantera what force what power,not since Metalica had I heard this.

That is my influences whats yours(mine nu is GMC so many great guitar player I can just sitt and look a lessons for days)

I remember the first music I really noticed was an album of Kiss which my older cousin owned. I was so amazed hearing the song and especially the intro of loud I wanna hear it lout right between the eyes so I made my cousin copy the album on a cassette which I played over and over

then Iron Maiden released fear of the dark and I was so spelled by the music now at that time I was only 10 years old so I had to sneak listen to it because I was afraid that my parents wouldnt like it hahahaha

Following Iron Maiden I discovered Metallica and really worshipped them and around the same time I found one of my fathers record of Queen a night at the opera and really opened my mind to alot of music styles

When I was 15-20 everything was about power metal like Helloween, Running Wild, Edguy, sonata arctica etc.

And now 27 years old I really listen to everything from country to death metal and still expanding my horizon

All in all I must admit that it would have been Kirk Hammet who inspired me to play guitar at a tender age of 12 years old:) I really wanted to learn to play al theyr songs hahahaha

well thats sums up my musical experiences so far, and most importandly we had band in school and we were really badass hahaha

When I was a kid my uncle and grandfather were probably the people who I can say really opened my ears to music.

My uncle listened to all kinds of music. From Zeppelin to Sinatra, Fleetwood Mac to Run DMC. He always told me to keep my ears open and not limit myself. He never played an instrument... although we both played some pretty mean air guitar... but from an early age he taught me that music was something special. I still listen to a vast variety of music from Opera to Death Metal and everything in between.

My grandfather introduced me to the world of celtic music which to this day still heavily influences me. I can't hear a fiddle and not tap my foot For me there is not much better then a good ole jig or reel. There are certain songs that when I hear them it just takes me back to sitting on the porch with my grandfather and him telling me stories from Ireland and Scotland. The music just makes me happy and always puts a smile on my face.

But as for guitar I just have two words.... Jimmy Page!!!

The earliest musical inspiration I can remember was hearing Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Misfits, and Judas Priest. From there I somehow managed to find and love all kinds of music, From every genre of Metal, to Folk Music, Blues, Jazz, Classical, Celtic, Punk, Instrumental music in general (cultural and ethnic styles), and as of about 3-4 years ago, Music like Andy Mckee, Antoine Dufour, and Don Ross.

When it comes to my own music though, My inspiration is never the same, I channel it into Heavy Metal, but the inspiration comes froms movies, books, video games anything, of course on top of music.

And lastly, I must mention Chuck Schuldiner. Who, after hearing his life story from an interview with his sister and family, Is a constant reminder why music is as powerful as it is, and why in general you should always work as hard as you can to achieve your dreams and goals

My first musical influence was Eric Clapton and Neil Young, I think I started listening to them when I was like 5 years old.
I started to get interested to play guitar when I was 11 and it was mostly Neil Young, Red Hot Chili Peppers (John Frusciante) and SRV that inspired me the most. When I was 12 ~13 I started listening to Metallica and Rush, practicing their songs really boosted my guitar playing. Around the age 14 ~15 I started listening to Death/Prog Metal (Opeth), (Dream Theater) and I listened much more to instrumental music from Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and Paul gilbert.
At that point I decided to dedicate my life to playing guitar and played for 4 ~8 hours per day, depending on how much I need to do for school, which hasnt changed till date. In the period between my 15 ~16 birthday I listened more and more to death metal, bands like Cannibal Corpse, Bloodbath, Obituary, Death and a crapload more started to have major influence on me. Not just on a musical but also on a personal level. Around my 16th birthday I heard Agalloch for the first time which has black metal vocals and they opened a whole new musical world for me. I also started listening to the acoustic music from Andy Mckee. Between my 16th birthday and my 17th (9 days ago) I listened alot to black metal and melancholic music bands like Empyrium, Fen, Burzum, Immortal, Abyssic Hate and much more... Recently I started playing more Jazz and my latest influences are Joe Pass, Frank Gambale and Allan Holdsworth.

But even though my musical journey continues I still love all the things I listened to, Blues, (Hard, neoclassical) Rock, Shred, Death Metal, Black Metal, (neo) Folk, Progressive Metal, Acoustic, Jazz, Fusion. The only musical styles I dont like are Emo, Nu-Metal, Rap and everthing else they broadcast on MTV

In a short story: First "good" music I started listening to was a swedish hip hop group called Looptroop. Then I got into metal and thought it was good if it was heavy and kvlt. Then I grew up and now I listen to pretty much everything.

Jethro Tull, The Beatles, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Led Zeppelin, Frank Zappa, Kashmir, Dizzy Mizz Lizzy and lots of turkish/kurdish folk-musicians.

You can say Metal had a lot of influences to me as a player for 2-3 years of my guitar life. But since December, I started branching out from it. I found out that my other musical journey's have taken over my life. I use to be really big into Metal, but I just find most of it pretty childish and boring. Of course, there's still a lot of Metal bands that I continue to listen to, but my life doesn't revolve around it anymore.

Nowadays, I find music such as acoustic percussive guitars, post-rock, ambient/IDM/electronic music, reggae, ska (punk), 90's emo are the music that has made a difference in my music journey. I really have come to love artist/bands like Matisyahu (Jewish Reggae/Hip Hop artist), Deal's Gone Bad (2nd wave ska), Slackers (2nd Wave Ska), Streetlight Manifesto, Andy Mckee, Don Ross, Mono, Mogwai, God is an Astronaut, Tycho, Boards of Canada, Bosques de mi Mente, Jazz June, Sunny Day Real Estates, Boy's Life, Kidcrash, Fugazi etc.

Metal:
I've always been split between metal head and 70's rock as my main influence, but with metal Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Metallica, Testament, and Black Sabbath have been my biggest influences. While I also really got into the melodic metal, and In Flames has influenced me as well.

Classic Rock:
I've always love Led Zeppelin so Jimmy Page is a huge influence, because he brought so many elements to hard rock. Because of Jimmy I got into some blues music, and some funk music. It just makes you appreciate the ability to bring any influences you have into your playing, allowing you to be more creative. Aside from Zeppelin, Pink Floyd is my #2 from that era. David Gilmour was great because he had such a soulful sound to his playing, which is probably why I love Slash, and Santana. Also some other bands that i was into were Boston, Cream, Hendrix, CCR, The Guess Who, The Doors, The Who, ZZ Top, Rush, Queen.

Blues:
I'm not too deep into blues, but love a few blues players, and something about the music flows with me, BB King, Albert King, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn. Can't get enough of it.

Grunge/Rock:
I grew up in the 90's so bands like Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Rage Against The Machine, Smashing Pumpkins, Chili Peppers.

When I was in grade school, was very young and my dad brought two CDs. I've never seen CD before, and on it there was The Doors, and Jethro Tull. You can't imagine how I felt when I heard Break on Through

My dads collection of rock and blues was what i was really into for about 6 years, then i discovered Megadeth, who are still my favorite band, which got me into metal. from there i worked my way into heavier stuff like kreator and in flames,which introduced my to cannibal corpse, suffocation and cryptopsy, and i have been playing Death metal ever since.
