Ive been listening to your "Remembering Amanda" Mp3 that you posted a while back - i have to say i really love it! do you have any more like this?! Hey thanks Matt That was a little out on a limb for me, but I usually err on the melodic side. I have a couple of pieces I am working on at the moment, but like remembering Amanda, I have to improve my technique before I can play them the way they need to be played ... currently working on Steve Vai like techniques for a piece called "Transcendence" but it is far from finished (and far from Steve Vai!). Actually writing something you can't play yet is a great way to motivate yourself I'll keep you posted! Actually writing something you can't play yet is a great way to motivate yourself That's what i do all the time!! Seriously - i always think of something i can't play and have to practice a lot. That's why i never run out of ideas for exercises Right now i have - let's say - finished song but it should be played in 140 and i can only keep up with backing track at around 130, maybe 135. it's full of killer licks and i hope i'll nail it down pretty soon so i can share it with you! -------------------- "It isn't how many years you have been playing, it's how many hours." -- Prashant Aswani "PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!" -- Michael Angelo Batio Check out my video lessons and instructor board! |
