Yeah, yeah, I know I need to post some clips. Just give me a few weeks and I'll have something good up smile.gif

Looks like a real nice setup. There's a lot of tonal possibilities you could get out of that board

Thanks, I'm really happy with it smile.gif

Wow ! Looks really cool.

Okay there's a chorus, a tremolo and a tuner but what does these others are for ? smile.gif

Thanks smile.gif

There's a tuner, compressor, distortion, overdrive/tone shaper, chorus, tremolo and delay.
Everything a pedalboard needs smile.gif

Good question, Ville - and what sort of styles would you be playing with this pedalboard?

I answered WeePee's question in my last post.
But as for what styles I'll be playing, I say whatever comes to mind smile.gif
I can play everything from Pop and Rock to full blown apocalyptical metal with this board.
Just wait, I'll post some clips soon smile.gif

Very neat looking setup!

It is interesting to see tremolo in this setup. Why no wah pedal?

Posted by: Darius Wave Jul 21 2013, 03:54 PM

Not to big and well organized smile.gif Congrats smile.gif I remember how some very simple things became a huge problem while designing my pedalboard...Things like power supply distance from the most hum sensitive units, comfort of usage, space for power chords and signbal chords, Wah angle, ground loops etc. Even all the pedalboards look very "obvious" it's still a lot of work to be done to make it work correctly smile.gif

Great pedalboard man!! It looks amazing. I'm with Bogdan with this one, I would add a Wah Wah and a Volume pedal and I would be 100% happy.

I don't use it that often, but Tremolo can be really awesome on some parts.
And this particular Tremolo you can control the tone of the tremolo as well as having two speeds. really neat smile.gif

I have never used a Wah pedal, never found the use for it really..
Don't think it's all that great to be honest smile.gif

Thanks smile.gif I went for a small pedalboard as I want it to take up as little space as possible.
I actually have one pedal more on there than I originally planned, so putting it all together was kinda hard.
It went well in the end, and sound really spiffin' good if you ask me smile.gif

Thanks mate smile.gif
Volume pedal I have thought about, but just for the sake of creating swells.
Maybe I will someday, but not important right now. I need to finish some songs that I have been neglecting for too long smile.gif

Turns out my pedalboard wasn't finished at all...
The only pedals that's left on the board from that setup is the Delay and the Tuner :-)

Darn you Bearfoot FX! laugh.gif

I'll put up a demo of the board once it's "finished" again, waiting for the last pedals now.
This is gonna ruin me in the long run... laugh.gif

What happened man? You didn't like the pedals you already had in it anymore?

Yes, I liked them a lot :-)
However, I ended up trying Bearfoot FX Sparkling Yellow Overdrive 1 & 2, plus a Mad Professor Sweet Honey OD (Handwired version).
To be truthful, they killed what was already on my board laugh.gif

So I sold off a bunch, and ordered them (amazing pedals), and now I've ordered three more Bearfoot FX pedals.
Emerald Green Distortion Machine, Dyna Red Distortion and Pale Green Compressor.

I can't wait to get them home, and I'll make a test of all pedals and put on here after a little while :-)

I promise you, they're good :-)

Posted by: Darius Wave Jan 10 2014, 01:45 PM

I'm doing some floor changes as well smile.gif Will post some photos later smile.gif Nice one...looks clean and wee organized smile.gif

Posted by: PosterBoy Jan 10 2014, 01:54 PM

This is one reason I'm happy and sad about using the Axe Fx.

Happy that I don't keep spending money buying pedals

and sad because I don't get to buy lots of new pedals to try out.

I love David Phillips ( LA Sound Design) pedal boards he does for clients , so neatly laid out and immaculate cabling and awesome sounds

I do agree - pedalboard design (what, where, how connected) is an Art itself. It's like never ending puzzle. Especially when You have to keep in mind all the outputs and inputs in use, some free spacing for power supply cinnectors, distance from the power supply etc...it's always a bit confusing

Haha! biggrin.gif Darius also pointed out a good thing about the art of arranging pedals. Good point here, as if you don't have a midi controller, you might as well start taking dancing classes too biggrin.gif

I for one am preparing my setup for the time when I will also be playing the guitar while singing - we're writing and arranging the songs on the new album so that they may accommodate 3 guitars. So, I will have to keep it simple most likely - I already have a simple setup but for the times when I play with the Pantera tribute, I always have to borrow a wah and a whammy pedal as I lack those..

Let us know when it's done, mate smile.gif

Here is mine:

Today I went to rehearsal room to configure new set-up. As I said my amp has no clean channel. I buoght a HBE Detox and a G-Lab midi looper so I could switch HBE through my Midi controller. I was doing test today. It works. Midi looper was necessary because I have to make 3 things at the same time to get clean tone - 1. Switch of the boost 2. add volume compensation in FX loop of the amp 3 switch on the HBE to cut of the gain.. some people might tell me It would be easier to by an amp with clean channel but...I love the tone and dynamics response of this one so...I found the other way smile.gif

Very interesting approach - you are referring to your Cornford amp?

Posted by: Darius Wave Jan 12 2014, 05:17 PM

Yes I do. I was not able to use it for my pop projects because of the lack of clean channel (I mean pure clean because I already used guitar volume roll off). Now it's done smile.gif

Great solution man smile.gif I was always curious to try out a Cornford, due to Guthrie and Richie Kotzen - out of what I know, he uses one as well. Are they player friendly or just like a Mesa? tongue.gif I don't think of Mesa Boogie as a player friendly amp at all biggrin.gif

Posted by: Darius Wave Jan 13 2014, 01:10 PM

It depend of what Mesa model we consider. I'm afraid You won't like Cornford if You feel Mesa is not friendly. Mesa DR, DC, RK and similar were always a "easy playing" type of amps for my. Same with Peavey 5150, Krank, Soldano Slo and other from the family. Cornford is pretty hard to play. That's why I like it biggrin.gif

I was speaking about the Mesa Road King - for the more technical kind of playing it needs a lot of control to handle. I played it twice on stage with Domination and I needed extra care to make things sound good.

This is just a cool example of how different people feel about exactly the same gear biggrin.gif World is awesome biggrin.gif Maybe this is why people never should give advices about the gear:P Jsut one truth "try by yourself" biggrin.gif

Totally agreeing with you man smile.gif Thing is, you can state an opinion so that people could know that there's a chance for them to encounter the same difficulties or have the same advantages, but that should not be regarded as a certainty.

Trying a piece of gear by yourself is the true way of realizing things. I have a friend whom I have talked about on the forum before, who's hunting down instruments on eBay, he's buying them and keeping them for a while to see if they fit him and his style. If they don't he sells them, if they do, he keeps them smile.gif This is TRUE testing, as in a shop, you might fool yourself due to the lack of time.

Posted by: Darius Wave Jan 14 2014, 09:16 AM

There are also people who can't stop doing this. They were designed to buy and sell tongue.gif I had a friend like that tongue.gif

I for one, am very happy to have this dude as a friend - I bought my Yamaha acoustic from him smile.gif He is an all around nice guy, but on the side, he is a walking musical instrument encyclopedia biggrin.gif And a true one, as he tested A LOT of historically known instruments smile.gif

Here's one recorded with one of his old guitars - this is a '81 Fender Acoustic and this second one is my Yamaha I bought from him, made in 1979.

So, yeah, this guy I'm talking about is mainly into acoustic guitars as he is also a vocalist and he mainly plays acoustic onstage.

Compact, clean, covers a little bit of everything. Nicely done.

I got a JHS Double Barrel recently. The TS side is GREAT, I was surprised. Just really good overall eq and dynamics. The Morning Glory side I thought was a bit lackluster. I guess they really are going for a straight up Blues Breaker kinda thing, so its knobs all the way up for the good stuff. As far as BB pedals go, I think there are better ones.

How has your experience been with the morning glory? What amp are you using?

thanks
