Cool thing with hanging out with other musicians is that you learn from their experience. This gives you insight into things you didn't ever think about or had a chance to experience first hand. Also, when playing and practicing - this sort of environment gives you much more support, motivation and in the end a bit more objective view on your own playing, goals, aspirations.
