Auditioning for a band is like American Idol. If you're good enough, they'll tell you, if not ...well...stick around at GMC long enough and you'll blow a lot of people away!

BTW: You're auditioning the band as much as they're auditioning you. If they suck and you rock...you're not obligated to join.

Well, if you're auditioning, learn about the band, always apply for a band that is little "beyond" of your ligue in order to push you further in musical sense. Learn the songs for audition well, and some moves too, wear some fine clothes and prepare some act as well. The rest depends on your playing abilities, similarity to the bands ideas for guitar player etc..

if you only have a few months of experience I think you should wait a bit before auditioning for a band. Instead look for jam sessions so you can play at your level without any worries. You can also find people with the same amount of experience as you and start a band.

I agree...but if you feel that you can do it...go for it and do not look at the audition as a stresfull thing...be relax and do not showe any fear...that way if you play good the impretion will be better.... smile.gif

Find out what they require before the audition and tell them what you want from a band. Ask them for a few songs to learn to jam with them on.
