GMC Forum _ CHILL OUT _ Vector W8 From Rising Sun

Posted by: Todd Simpson Oct 14 2014, 01:39 AM

Anyone Remember a movie called RISING SUN with Wesley Snipes? It featured a car called the VECTOR W-8 which just SCREAMS 80's and the car went up for auction recently ! IT grabbed $250,000. Egad!!! I always wanted that car smile.gif

Anyone else have a bizarre car on their "car bucket list" smile.gif?

It reminds me a bt of a Labourgini - not sure whch a Countach (sp?) or a Diablo probably.

When I was a child a family friend who was really rather rich used to collect sports cars and had a few Lambos, Ferraris, Porsches plus an Aston Martin and an E Type and a few other toys. He would sometimes take me out in one as a special treat. Nowadays i drive a 7 year old Ford rolleyes.gif

Yes, very cool car!
Rising Sun was a decent movie too. Sean Connery, Wesley Snipes, Harvey Keitel. Written my Michael Crichton (Jurrasic Park, Andromeda Strain, Disclosure) from the book of the same name. I love the Japanese espionage movies from the 80s and early 90s. *I've also been digging the new crop of Chinese cop/detective/organized crime flicks. Great mix of modern police plots, martial arts and weird Asian mythology/ghost stuff.

*We're a two Ford family here. 1998 Explorer and a 2013 Fiesta.
Until cartage comes back (not) I have to get all this $h1t around.

I wonder if I can put at least a 2x12" in that new Charger - ? cool.gif

Got to have one of these awesome pimped out RVs...

There was a guy years ago that had one of these, a 1997 Chrysler Conquest.

He said he would race me pink slip for pink slip against my Mustang GT 5.0.

I didn't race him, but there's no way in hell that car had the torque that Mustang had.

This was what my car looked like - I'm lucky to be alive. I had this when I use to love to "Cruise and Booze".

Me too! smile.gif RISING SUN is a very fun movie and I catch it whenver it re runs on cable. Along the same line is

BLACK RAIN

which was actually directed by RIDLEY SCOTT!!! Here is the trailer which almost comes off like a PAROD of bad 80s movies about Japan and cops smile.gif
