The Pod is ok, but (atleast in my experience) it needs a lot of tweaking and fiddling around to get the most out of it.

I guess it might not be a good idea. Though I honestly can't tell you, because I've never heard one of those. There are some practice amps around 100$ such as the micro-cube / DA5 that might do the trick to play at home with a reasonable quality. Theres a Vox Pathfinder 15W that has good reviews around 100$ too. -------------------- Guitars:

Amp always sounds better than a digital modeller through earphones, I think this is very clear.
