I play through a pod 2.0 into headphones now and was wondering if the pod would make this ok?

For me nothing can replace a real amp, I don't like the digital sounding modeling stuff. And I still regret it that I bought a Line 6 Spider III amp last year. Give me a Clean amp and distortion pedal and I'm a happy boy tongue.gif Too bad I cant pay for it laugh.gif

Still some of the Pod sounds are pretty good, so it could probably replace an amp if you like the pod's sounds tongue.gif
But I dont know if you can play live with a Pod, and without an amp blink.gif

The Pod is ok, but (atleast in my experience) it needs a lot of tweaking and fiddling around to get the most out of it.

IMO you cant beat the Pod X3 for home use!!

I spent hundreds on a Vox tube amp, and loads of modded pedals and i MUCH prefer the Pod tones!

For live, well that is another matter........ Ill take a nice Mesa thankyou wink.gif

Wow, that's really cheap!, if the old saying "What you pay is what you get" is true... I guess it might not be a good idea. Though I honestly can't tell you, because I've never heard one of those.

There are some practice amps around 100$ such as the micro-cube / DA5 that might do the trick to play at home with a reasonable quality. Theres a Vox Pathfinder 15W that has good reviews around 100$ too.

If you want a good solid state amp that won't break your bank, check out the Orange Crush series. I heard there quite well, and pretty cheap for the price. Although, it could also suffer from the Marshall MG series where Marshall is a great company, but they also tend to make crappy amps.

Amp always sounds better than a digital modeller through earphones, I think this is very clear.

THe question is - how much money you want to spend on amp?
