They just added a bunch of new FX to BIAS FX. I'm digging the dual signal path bit. I've got one path as a hairy plexi and one path as bass guitar. So you can hit two birds with one stone, or not smile.gif Sort of has a "70s Space Rock Vibe". If you have bias fx you can download the preset here or in tone cloud.

Attached File  70_s_Guitar___Bass.aupreset.zip ( 11.75K ) Number of downloads: 403

I hear ya. The mobile version is only $30 though I think? I think it's got the same fx and such?

I've heard lots of bad high gain presets on BIAS FX and they all say "add a tube screamer externally" which is a lame cop out. I wanted to create an aggressive 80's Death/Thrash tone that didn't turn to mud when you palm muted. It took forever, but finally here it is for BIAS FX.

Here is the patch for download outside of tonecloud.
Attached File  80_s_Thrash_Krunch.aupreset.zip ( 7.28K ) Number of downloads: 1040

Note: sadly, the mobile version only supports IOS.

I'm considering making my next purchase something like Eleven Rack and maybe a controller. Even though I'm not playing with a band I've kinda limited myself to a play-in-front-of-the-computer-guitarist.

You never know smile.gif For the money, the 11 rack can't be beat IMHO. Also it's got full I/O so you can use Mics and such if needed.

Only problem is that it's quite expensive here. Used Eleven Rack goes for around $500 here. Just looking at this here: http://www.dba.dk/eleven-rack-andet-maerke-a/id-1016058189/

Eleven Rack plus Roland FC-300 midiboard and small rack case, $650. Of course some people can be bargained with, but it seems to be around that price range.

It's still on the "Sign Up" model for the moment. I'm on the "beta" test team so I'm seeing version version 1.4.6 and it seems very stable and has an amazing sound engine. It seems to sound overall just better than my JAM UP PRO which I liked quite a bit. The ability to have two discreet signal paths complete with all the maps that folks "profile" and upload and all the amps that folks build in BIAS AMP and upload is very nice.

Here is a dual path patch mimicing guitar and bass at once.

The build seems stable so I"m guessing it will be released very soon!

Hey Guys!

Just been using the Bias FX on IOS (Ipad) for one week, and i wanted to share my thoughts!

I was looking for a solution for late night GMC practice with headphones, as turning on my amp was definitly not a solution... so after some digging i found out that using the various softwares available for IPAD might be a solution (cannot use computer as it's in a different room...). The price/solution ratio is quiet good, anyway buying a Kemper to use it with Headphones most of the times... blink.gif

Amplitube? GuitarRig? Positive Grid? Based on internet comments and youtube listening the BIAS FX software sounded like a decent solution, so i got an interface (Irig HD) and bought the BIAS FX. And i have to say that so far so good! There are some points that still need to be enhanced, but i was quiet surprised at the results:

* The user interface (GUI) is really, but REALLY, REALLY REALLY, easy to understand and to use. Come on! It's just a matter of 5 mins to get used to it!
*Dual signal chain, and the possibility to insert effects anywhere in the chain, and to experiment crazy options...
*Sound quality: still fighting to get the tones i am looking for. I've been downloading some tone from tonecloud (i saw yours there Todd ;-) ) to get some help. Basically, i can get pretty nice clean sounds, nice heavy distortion sounds, but i am struggling to get that crunchy tone...
*Pedal sounds: some are nice, others are strange, and a few are ...wrong. I am struggling to use the OD808, so far it sounds nothing like what i remember when i had one, and i don't know why. I have to try and fine tune it a little bit more. The equivalent Boss distortion sounds even better in some cases. I am also struggling with reverbs to have this nice stereo reverbe effect. The reverb rack has too many options and i still have to understand how to use it for the type of sounds i want. Boosts are ok, chorus are not bad although i've heard better vsts, the noise gate works well, and the eq rack is amazing.
*Amp sounds: not bad, but i think i'll download BIAS AMPS mobile to tweak it a bit more, especially because with fx you cannot change the speaker and mic position. So far, i am struggling in finding a decent GNR AFD/SLASH sounds (i am working on GMC "Slash complete style IV: metal solo"). On the other hand hi gain heavy metal sounds are not an issue! lots of possibilities (the black album presets downloaded from tonecloud do work pretty well!).

All in all, i am happy using this software and i can really enjoy playing with headphones (wayyyy more than my korg pandora 3). With time i am sure i'll fine tune the presets and obtain the wanted sound. But i am lacking decent crunch tones, so far they sound harsh and un-inspiring...let's work on this!

By the way Todd, i am really looking for a tone to play the solo of hotel california, any setting/preset you could share? Tx!

BIAS FX for ipad was recently on sale for $20 in the app store so I bought a copy myself! smile.gif It's simply the best guitar "app" I"ve ever heard and I"ve heard them all. IMHO, it's the one to beat. I'd been using the desktop version so having it on mobile and desktop is really handy!

I don't have a Hotel california tone yet but I"m guessing you can find something like it in the TONE CLOUD. Have you check the tones available in tonecloud yet? I've got a few patches in there myself smile.gif

The only issue I have with BIAS FX is that there is a pinch of lag switching presets. If you were using it live, this might get annoying which is probably why I've seen pro guys using two or three ipads and a signal switch so that they don't have to have any lag. For home use and recording, BIAS FX is king of the hill imho smile.gif

Hi Todd! Tx for your answer!

What do you think about Bias Amp, is it really necesarry to find "THAT" tone or i can keep on trying with BIAS FX by playing with eq's and downloading from Tonecloud? I am a bit affraid that if i download Bias AMp i'll end up tweaking all the time instead of playing mad.gif

Quick extra question: what soft do you recomend to record directly on the ipad (for the future rec wink.gif ?

If you think your losing time to tweaking now, wait til you dive in to BIAS AMP smile.gif It's a great bit of kit, but if you have BIAS FX, you really can get by on that alone IMHO and spare yourself the rabbit hole of tweaking amp and fx apps. But the AMP app for ipad isn't that pricey if I recall correctly so maybe add it ad some point.

For recording on ipad, i'd say get AURIA. It's not a cheap 10 app, it's like $50. But it's the most serious daw for ios platform IMHO. You can find other ipad daws that are more simple and cheaper such as GARAGE BAND which is a great app, but it's almost a toy compared to auria. I use both actually though. There are these "auto player" features in garage band that help you build jam tracks quickly and it's very easy to use.

But if you are going to do tracking/mixing on your ipad, I'd say spring for auria when you can smile.gif

Here is a handy vid about AURIA. It's by far the most power solution for DAW on iPad imho. It can honestly keep pace with a laptop/desktop daw.
