Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

This is a really good take.

Your timing here is excellent.. it's very hard to play smooth sweep picking at low tempos but you nailed this.

The take could be smoother... there are a few areas later in the take where the notes are muffled, like at 0:39... but overall you have a great grasp of this technique. Keep up the good work ! smile.gif

Hi friend, good job with this lesson!

I think that your take is really good and it just has some details to focus on the next days of practice to make it sounds perfect. The first thing is the rhythm / timing of your slides. There are not bad, but if you compare them with Ben's, you will notice that his slides are tighter and smoother, this is a very little details, but I'm sure that you will be able to fix it if you practice the lesson over the original take.

The second thing that I note is that the faster arpeggios starting at 00:49 are not completely clean. The reason can be that you are not picking the notes strong, or a muting problem, you always have to make a note stop sounding when the following is played. Just give some more time to them to make each note sound clean and clear and you'll master this one.

That's all, keep on rocking! wink.gif

Hey there!

I will also add my congratulations on this take, as it's clear you have worked hard to achieve the current level of this recording!

As the guys said, this one needs a bit more practicing - slow practicing and gradually raising the speed - focusing on

- playing the transitions as smooth as possible
- playing the faster arpeggio shapes (especially the ones after 0:49) as clean as possible
- making the piece sound as natural and close to Ben's

If you nail these aspects, this take will shine!

All the best and keep rocking!

Cosmin
