Hi GMC

I should make a cover of "The final Countdown Solo part" in 2022
I try to harmonizing part because its a key of epic tone.

I dowloaded on youtube BT with harmonized part only
I downloaded on backingtrack.com complet solo without harmonized part

I made a comparative with 2 audio files.

I think my sweeping is no perfect and tone is different.
I will love get advices to improve it

This very good imho!! His original tone is less articulate. Less detail, less treble, more reverb. So more dull on tone and more reverb basically. But honestly I like yours better. smile.gif

Hi misterM, it sounds good to me smile.gif

When I learned it I instinctively used economy picking instead of alternate picking which is what I believe you are using.

I find it easier to play this solo at its original speed with economy picking.

I also have the full backing track, and tabs of the whole song if you want them; I got them from the Guitar-Techniques magazine back when I was a teenager smile.gif

ALSO, make sure you use the neck pickup for this solo. That's how Norum used to play it.

My favorite Europe solo is this:

There's a lesson on that too actually: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Europe...rstitious-Solo/

Hi Sarge

Thank you, I'm happy to read your com
However, with a second part, the solo sounds better when I play on the harmonized youtube Backingtrack.
It sounds a bit like the original. With mine it's a little less close.

Hi Steve

Great playing. smile.gif
I learned it in A/P and sweeping.
However I prefer to play it with sweeping technic like the original
Ok for the files, I will love try with your backing track

I don't sure : what you define by economy picking ?
You use alternate picking on your cover

Thank you Cael

I saw it but this lesson is without harmonized part.
I didn't know this solo, it's interesting but shred part is crazy.
