Hello guys! Today I'd like to introduce this new thread called "And technique for all..." in which I will share weekly technique routines using licks and exercises from our killer archive.
Why am I doing this? I know that sometimes it can be time wasting to explore the lessons to find the right stuff to practice so I've decided to start creating videos with 5 techniques likes that could build your weekly technique routines. Who can use this exercises? This exercises are suitable for any level but in the case that you are an absolute beginner you should first for into our beginners series before getting into this stuff. Which tempo is required? Practice at YOUR comfortable tempo with metronome. Most of these licks are played at insane speeds by the instructors but the goal here is speed at first. The goal is precision, cleanness, tightness and finally speed. How much time should your practice? This exercises can be the technique section of your practice routine so the amount of time depends on your own schedule. Even dedicating 10 minutes to 1 of these every day can make a difference so personalize your plan and contact me if you need help with it. SESSION #1: In this first session we have 5 picking exercises. The first two ones are based on Pentatonic patterns and require the use of alternate picking and close attention to cross picking. These are in the style of Zakk Wylde. The third exercise is a one string lick played with sextuplets and again with alternate picking technique. Exercises 4 and 5 are in the style of Malmsteen, and the last one introduces Sweep Picking technique in the end. Tabs: Session__1.zip ( 272.74K ) Number of downloads: 140 Feel free to share your vids playing the exercises here to receive feedback. Who is in? Hello Gab, Still hesitate as I am not sure I can dedicate enough time to make it right... Few questions: are there new exercises each week to learn? Should we work on all five elements in your video with minimum 10min/lick each day (~1hr/day) and share a vid with metronome after one week? Hi Tom, your post make me rethink something. Now I've changed the word "week" by "session". This are long term sessions. It's obvious that unless the student is around levels 7/8/9, it would take more than 1 week to master this exercises. The idea of this thread is to provide a selection of exercises that can be part of your guitar sessions. You can work on 1 per week, 2 per week, 3 per month, or whatever you think it's better. We can even discuss that here or at Gab's Army. About sharing vids here. It's ok to share around once a week or once every two weeks to let me check the progress and give specific feedback. -------------------- My lessons

I think this is a great idea! It would be awesome to have the structure and other ways to improve my practice. Thanks Gab...... Nice to know it Ken! I'm waiting for more feedback about this in order to work on new sessions. -------------------- My lessons

Thanks Gab....I am not able to play these exercises like Ben....But I figure I could start slow and use a metronome and work from there. Great! That's the idea. I am working right now on that last Malmsteen run, its the only one thats being a bit of a pain. I'll probably post something 5-7 days from today. Cool! Looking forward your vids! -------------------- My lessons
