Hi, I got a welcome message from Gabriel Leopardi to introduce myself, so here I am smile.gif

I'm 18 years old an playing guitar for a bit more than two and a half years. I learned electric guitar by myself and some of my favorite bands are Dream Theater, Metallica, Trivium and Avenged Sevenfold.

At the moment I try to improve my Alternate Picking and Sweep Picking skills, because I want to play these hard Solos of John Petrucci, but I'm still far away from his technique. So I'm gonna practice more stuff like that till i'm able to play things like this: http://youtu.be/V6k1VdgNeKE?t=4m39s biggrin.gif

Thanks for reading this! smile.gif

Hi Yannick, welcome to GMC! smile.gif
Great to see you in the forum. Very nice goals about alternate picking and sweep picking, with consistent practice these techniques are not hard to develop.

Please let me know if you need any help or lesson suggestions.

See you around the forum,
Bogdan

Hey man, welcome to GMC smile.gif

I have a first suggestion for you - a lesson which is very fit in working out your alternate picking skills and your understanding of rhythmic subdivisions. Please let me know if it's too easy for you and it would be totally awesome if you could share some recordings with us. We would know a lot better what suggestions we can make, in order to help you out smile.gif

Hi and thanks for all the answers smile.gif

Currently I'm working on three lessons for Alternate Picking:
- Alternate Picking Chops
- Modal Madness Pt. 1
- Modal Madness Pt. 2

I'm playing the first two lessons at about 95 bpm, and the third at 85 bpm, because my little finger is a bit too weak to play it faster. For Sweep Picking I'm working on the 'Sweep Picking Lesson' by Muris Varajic at 145 bpm.

I've viewed the lesson that Cosmin mentioned, but I think thats a bit too easy for me. smile.gif

I think I will post a REC soon smile.gif
