Hello everyone,
Ok, I'm on holiday and it's the first time ever I'm really missing my guitar and I'm only at the airport hotel, don't fly until tomorrow morning What do you reckon about the Shredneck??? I'll get one for the next holiday if you think it's worth it Cheers folks This post has been edited by Phil66: Jul 19 2015, 08:08 AM -------------------- SEE MY GMC CERTIFICATE “Success is not obtained overnight. I"m sure there has to be somebody on GMC that LOVES the shredneck!!!! I'm not one of them of course, but I'm sure there has be at least one. I'd say off hand that if you want to practice guitar, and you need to be able to keep it portable, get a guitar that's portable instead of something that's not actually a guitar.
Here is a list of about a hundred or so "Travel Guitars" some not much bigger than the "Shredneck" http://www.guitarcenter.com/Travel---Mini-...ctric-Guitar.gc Here is a guy comparing the HOFFNER travel guitar with a steinberger guitar. Both are nice and small The clone steinbergers are quite small. However, they are real instruments and thus cost more than something that's not an instrument like the shredthing. So there's that! I have one, and rarely used it before lending it to a friend.
For a longer holidays it will not suffice, for a shorter one, just enjoy a book, give your hands a few days off... |

I've only read bad things about the shredneck, and I'd say you're better off going for one of the options Todd was suggesting.

Thanks folks,
I guess when you do something practically every day then you have two weeks away you're going to miss it. I had a one week holiday in Spain earlier this year and it was not a problem but the thought of two weeks was bad. I bought a couple of guitar mags at the airport and I think I'll read those in the sun and not worry about not being able to play. Maybe it will give me more hunger for when I get back. Anyone on Facebook go check my picture on Ace Skunk Anansie page . My wife rockin the Ace Academy tee shirt on the terrace Not really relevant but holiday and guitar related -------------------- SEE MY GMC CERTIFICATE “Success is not obtained overnight. I have one, used it on a vacation and was ok to practice some scales, that's about it, it's obviosly too short. A portable guitar would be the best option as Todd pointed out.
Edit: Not to mention you won't practice picking at all! This post has been edited by Fran: Jul 19 2015, 10:25 AM -------------------- Guitars:

I've now resigned to the fact that I have no axe, I tried using my right forearm but that was no good. I've settled into sun, sea and sangria now so that will have to do.
I'll catch up when I get back. Cheers -------------------- SEE MY GMC CERTIFICATE “Success is not obtained overnight.
