Have you heard his solo stuff?

If not, pay VERY close attention here. For IMHO you are missing out on possibly the best heavy metal album to come out in the last decade.

Yeah, "The Chemical Wedding" is THAT good.

I'm getting ahead of myself though....

Lets rewind back to 1990.

Bruce does a solo record called "Tattooed Millionaire".The title track is an homage to Nikki Sixx. And I can see why... After all Nikki did nail Bruce's wife. But that's another story.

Janick Gers played on this album. Later he would join Iron Maiden. Its a rock album. A bit of a different path than Bruce's Maiden stuff, but still an enjoyable listen if you are open minded.

"Tattooed Millionaire"

"Dive Dive Dive"

"Born In '58"

Then came the "Balls To Picasso" album. Different band. Enter Roy Z. Guitarist and soon to be MASTER PRODUCER.

A more rockin offering from Bruce this time. This album includes some staples of his future live shows.

"Tears OF The Dragon"

"Sacred Cowboys"

"Cyclops"

Next in Bruce's solo career is the "Skunkworks" album. I believe this was the low point of his solo endeavor. New band again. Yep, 3rd album, 3rd band....

Its got a more alternative flavor to it. Considering the era it came out in I'm not surprised. Still, not bad.

"Solar Confinement"

"Octavia"

"Space Race"

Now we het to the VERY interesting stuff. 1997's "Accident Of Birth". I remember the day I got this album. I had a VERY nice car stereo at the time and popped the disc in as I was heading downa very busy street in Cedar Rapids IA. The very moment the 1st song "Freak" kicked in I saw something in the foldout book that I was blown away by. ADRIAN SMITH WAS PLAYING ON THIS ALBUM!!!!! And he had the lineup from "Balls To Picasso" back. including Roy Z!!!!! This was going to prove to be unstoppable.

Accident of Birth is a return to more heavy territories.... And in my opinion one of the top 25 metal Albums EVER.

"Freak"

"Accident Of Birth"

"Star Children"

Next is the magnum opus of Bruce's career. "The Chemical Wedding" Same lineup as the previous album. The lyrics were inspired by William Blakes poetry.

I can't describe how good this album is with words.....

"King In Crimson"

"Book Of Thel"

"Gates Of Urizen"

"Jerusalem"

Bruce did one more solo album before returning to Iron Maiden. "Tyrrany Of Souls". After the Checmical Wedding its tough to give any other albums their fair shake. Different lineup again.

"Soul Intruders"

"A Tyranny Of Souls"

"Power Of The Sun"

I hope you enjoy this music as much as me. The last 2 albums especially are among the best I have heard. EVER.

I cant believe I didnt bring this up sooner. There are a lot of Maiden fans here so I guess I assumed its old news.

And it is, but its missed by many.

As a huge maiden fan I listened to most of Bruce's work. In my eyes he is doing a bloody good job solo. I like everything Bruce has ever made solo, but I cannot help thinking what he would have come up with if he was in Maiden in the 1994 - 1998 period smile.gif smile.gif
None the less, thanks for bringing this up. it's been a while since i listened to his songs smile.gif

I've listened to all of his solo stuff, and I like it very much. It's great music, and songs are modern and awesome sounding. Chemical wedding, The Tower, River of no return, Gates of Urizen, Man Of Sorrows, Road To Hell- all epic songs IMO.
