Transcribing By Ear.

For any ac/dc fan, the book is amazing) I wanna try to practice my ear transcribe skill. I've read (and so did I about alot of other big players) that they used to have vinyl players that they could slow the tempo with, so they could play along. At age 11 Angus/Malcolm could play a Hendrix tune by ear in just a matter of minutes.. holy youknowwhat. I'm a bit unpatient, so when I dont get a lick in a few tries, I get discouraged, which is bad. I found this track on youtube, which I'm going to download as MP3. And with the software called RiffmasterPro3 I can change the tempo by 1 or more %, any % without changing the Pitch, whitch is really important. This is the track I'm going to study, by ear. Anyone who wants to join me with this as some kind of "Challenge" ? It was published in "Guitar Techniques" like 4 or more years ago. Dave Kilmister transcribed it. Speaking of backing, you mind Hot, if I use your Mozart backing on youtube? I might put that on sometime, just for family. I will give you credit, you are one of my favorite guitarists on earth. I find it interesting, I can tell that you basically play that like it would have been traditionally on piano. I heard a master from the 50's playing it, and it was very much the way you played, on they were on piano. I like your traditional approach, some things can't be improved on, such as Mozart. It's best to listen some solos and try to transcribe it by ear, but there are other ways, even better. Playing certain scalar patterns, arpeggios, playing same stuff in other positions... Also ability to hear song the correctly and ability to play it on guitar are different. For latter, knowing fretboard is crucial. I don't know, maybe we can open some topic, like competition, who will learn(by ear) to play lick firs. Like, I post some pattern or so, and students must record them selves playing it.
