Didn't they say Win10 was going to be the last windows and would just evolve but keep the number 10?

I think they did some 5-7 years back, but I wouldn't trust companies when they say that. They want to make money - and improve or make a new OS platform to keep going and improving financially asa company. What if for some reason the whole structure of a PC changed and foundation of Windows 10 as a whole couldn't work anymore. They'd not just give up and close down. But yes, I believe they said that, but I never read much into it.

Extreme structure change may be the main reason, adapting to app.s and stuff probably would need too big of an update with lots of potential problems.

I'm happy though as never liked the 10 interface, I'm still on 7 but will follow how this will perform.

I never thought that they wouldn't change the os, I just thought they'd keep the name regardless of what they did to the os wink.gif

I do like Win10 but I really like the look of the 11 interface.

In Windows XP I installed a Windows 95 theme. I don't know if that's possible today with Win 10.

Looks more like MAC OS with every time. it's odd because IOS/MAC OS is a smaller segment than windows. still, it's seen as a "premium" option as it's pointlessly more expensive to buy proprietary products like those from apple, so maybe that's why?

Microsoft saying Win10 will be the last version of windows, is the same as Scorpions announcing their last world tour biggrin.gif

they love saying "this will be the last version of windows so buy it now!" smile.gif They are in the business of selling licenses so I can't see them ever making a last version.

I gotta say I was surprised to hear about the announcement of 11. I guess I believed them when they said 10 would be the last. I was a very latecomer to 10. Only just now am a 10 user. But I had used 10 on other devices like from company computers. So I had been used to 10 somewhat beforehand.
