Never been a fan myself, But your review was very good, very good amounts of detail.

Nice review. I've heard My Curse and it was pretty cool, but since every song follows that basic formula, that's not too good.

This was my introduction to Killswitch, and I actually like it a lot....I should probably try listening to their other stuff, right?
Good review tho!

It's always a matter of perspective. My buddy gave me "End of Heartache" months before I finally picked up "As Daylight Dies". I'm not a big metalcore fan (obviously), but I did like Heartache and don't really care for Daylight, excluding the bonus material.

Never been a huge fan of Killswitch Engage - someone told me they were better than Opeth once, to which I had to laugh.

Theres a lot of inconsistancy in the Metalcore genre as a whole, generally albums are produced and you'll find that maybe theres one or two catchy songs per album - reminds me of the time I listened to a lot of indie music - I think in most music this is the case, just in Death Metal you dont really notice because its just all out brutality for the full 30 minutes. First tracks are usually the standout on any album and if they're not good I tend to be a bit worried about the whole lot.

Most consistant Metalcore album I've ever heard was DevilDriver - The Fury Of Our Makers Hand, piece of class that album - they got it spot on, they built up to it in the album before but since then they've slipped a bit, which disappointed me. Still they're more sorta Black Metalcore and they dont really have much in the way of non-growling. biggrin.gif

And before I forget, good review! I found it spot on as it was particularily unbiased and well informed cool.gif

I just have to post this

It's a metalcore cover of Dio's Holy Diver and the bonus track on ''As Daylight Dies''. Very good cover and hilarious video!

I love the Holy Diver cover! I wish they would just package all of the special edition material on a "My Curse" single, that single would be completely worth buying.

yea i love killswitch. but i can see where you guys are coming from. sometimes metal just gets reall repetitive. they put on an amazing live show. sure some of the songs are sappy but i love the guitar riffs. as daylight dies is a great cd
