Yes, it said Walking...!

How many of you guys take walks around the area you live ? Is it the sort of place where it's easy to go for a walk or is it a dodgy area where it's not so easy ?

If you're in a city do you seek out parks or quiet areas ?

We live out in the countryside and we have an active (ok hyperactive) dog so we take him for lots of long walks locally. A paseo is also a tradition here so you get used to seeing lots of people out for a walk in the early evening.

Sounds great.. I guess really early in the morning or late in the evening is the best time to avoid the searing heat ?

I'm right next to a beautiful stretch of the River Thames and there are some great views from walking the Tow-paths!!
biggrin.gif

Also, if you walk up to the top of the Village you can see Windsor Castle on it's hill in the distance!

Well, since I'm living in the south of the black forest I always find myself in a beatiful environment when I take a walk laugh.gif
And since Rottweil isn't a huge city I usually find myself surrounded by nature in just a couple of minutes, no matter what direction I'm heading biggrin.gif

I live in a very quiet part of the city so I use to go for a walk near from my home and I really enjoy the peace here. However there nothing like going to even quieter places like countrysides. I go there every time that I can. smile.gif

I go for walks just about every day except during winter. I live out in the country and have the choice of walking either along an old country road, in the forest, or in the meadow. Usually go about two or three miles a day.

I'm very lucky to live in an area called BUCKHEAD (which is ripe for name mashups) in Atlanta and it's a nice place. If you guys are ever in town, I"d be happy to show you around smile.gif The building has a "Guest Suite" which is a nice one bedroom fully furnished for visitors. So I can even put you up for the night! Here is a link about the area and the building.

I don't go as often as I should but now the weather is getting better I will. I live in a village at the foot of two mountains so there's plenty of open space to go for walks and the village itself has some pretty walks if you don't want to climb. As for being a safe place to walk the only danger is getting mugged by a gang of rouge sheep. biggrin.gif

In my hometown, at night, I would grab a coffee and bring my guitar to this small island off the side to a river. The island was fairly small and in the middle is a massive triple willow tree and right off the island is a waterfall. The water moving up to the waterfall is very calm and provides a nice reflection of the night sky. The waterfall also provided enough noise that it felt very private while I was there.

I wish I could describe it better, but that is my favorite place to go, especially during nice nights in the summer.

I have a little dog and I am taking him on the walks everyday! It's also a good exercise!!!
I actually had a conversation about it with my drummer friend! He took lessons from Torry Bozzo and the guy is walking every day 3-4 miles he is in his 50s but still does it! Even when he is on tour!
