Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Herr Driever ! Great take.. and yeah, that is such a cool lesson by Lian isn't it - love that melody smile.gif

You did a great job, there's nothing wrong at all.. very tight and controlled.

There's only one complaint, and this could be a matter of taste, but I noticed one of your bad habits has returned.. something I tried to eradicate once upon a time... wink.gif

You often move your finger to the next note and then pick it. The melody sounds far more powerful and controlled if your finger shifting and picking occurs at the same time. There's nothing actually 'wrong' with what you do but it can sound to the listener like you have bad co-ordination. It's the only possible criticism I have but like I said it could come down to taste at the end of the day smile.gif

This is a very good take man. Comparing your playing with Lian, I find a big difference with the vibrato technique, your vibrato starts sooner and the vibration starts with the same speed and width than when it ends.. I would do it more natural, at least in some notes, to make it sound more natural... is it clear? Compare your take with Lian's and let me know if you don't see what I mean. By the way this take obviously passes.

Hallo Christian! smile.gif I only wanted to congratulate you and to agree upon the things stated by my two comrades - I think you upset Ben with the fact that you didn't keep the good habit he wanted you to have. It's time to start thinking about how to send a big crate of donuts his way smile.gif

Well played man! All the bits are there and in the right places but maybe go a little nuttier/looser on the vibrato to exaggerate certain bits more than others. Vibrato is a great way to emphasis or de-emphasis a given note, passage etc. Sometimes, over doing it sounds cool, sometimes under doing it works. Don't be afraid to pull and Yngwie and pull your vibrato really wide now and then to give it flavor! smile.gif

Very well played! I agree with Ben! 100%! He has a god point! Your playing sounds in control but if you will continue shifting your finger first and than picking you might have problems in the future and it will be hard to re learn the whole thing! I would highly suggest to correct it right now!
