Hi Petr, how are you?

This is evolving well. There are some moments that require more attention like:

at 00:56: The palm muted pattern is not totally tight.
1:45: This part and some other more melodic ideas are a bit sloppy, you need to train your alternate picking technique.
1:55: This trash metal rhythm is not completely tight yet.

Isolate and work on these parts during this week and share a new take in 7 days, ok?

You can complement your practice with this lesson: https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/rhythm-gu...r2-palm-muting/

Hi Petr! This is evolving well but it's a pity that the old rhythm issue is still there.

Let's set a date at v-chat to meet and I'll show it how to play it to see if I can help, what do you say?

Hi mate! Welcome back!

Good playing on this cover! Just be careful with timing in the part from 00:52 to 01:47. and also the part that starts at 01:47, that requires palm muting and for any reason your picking is not consistent there. Try to emulate the accentuation and tightness that Metallica gives to this part. More aggression and a precise accentuation.

Other than that this sounds good. Keep on rocking.

Hi Petr, the intervals are totally correct.

There is a lot of music writing with minor scales. Here are some examples that I use:

2m:

3m:

7m - 6m: (in the intro of this song, the first note is E, then bass goes to the 7m and then to the 6m).

One thing that will help is to learn to sing the minor scales. Practice them with guitar, and then without guitar to get used to the minor intervals. Practice every day and you'll get used.

Hi mate, great to hear from you.

The take is not bad, it's getting better but you still need to practice more to get more comfortable with bending, vibrato and adjust a bit tempo. The solo needs to sound deeper, and this can be achieved with more focus on expression techniques as the ones marked and also dynamics.

The tone isn't helping with this, I think that it could be better if it sounds warmer. I'm a bit lost with the Ignite software, where are the head amp settings? gain, eq, etc? I cannot see them in the image share.

Hi Gab,

I got the Ignite software here http://www.igniteamps.com/en/audio-plug-ins
but to be honest I dont know much about recording and plugins, it is just random setting which i did there.

I tried some amp simulators which you suggested in this thread
https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/guitar_fo...showtopic=52512

but i got strange results with a lot of noise etc.

Please could you suggest some setup for this lesson?
Here is part of my recording without any plugin if that is of any help

Hi Petr, I think that you are not using a cabinet on the tone that you've sent by zip. Please check this video:

Are you using the KeFir besides the poulin head?

Hi Gab,
yes, I sent the tone without any plugin, just in case you wanted to try and apply one.
And to answer the second question - Im using ONLY nadir, no poulin head.
Should they be used together?

Petr

Hi Gab,
Ok so from that video I see that I should use the cab simulator and then the impulse loader in the chain.
I tried that with the take of the Rhythm figures lesson
https://soundcloud.com/petr-14/rf20150906
first i tried the Le456 but the default Cubase AmpSimulator seemed to me to give better result.
Still the sound is nowhere close the one from original lesson.
Here is the setting
Attached Image

Do you see anything wrong with it?

Regarding the take - I know you suggested to keep practicing this one, but Im bit behind the tasks of the "Improvisation workout" so I need to spend more time there. So Im thinking to send it to the REC zone smile.gif just to see if I can tick that off and move on to something else. Your Iron Maiden lesson (as we discussed in the timing workout thread) gives me hard time for too long smile.gif

thanks Petr

Please replace NaIR by LeCab. Youy can download it from this site: http://lepouplugins.blogspot.com.ar/

and then try opening this impulse on lecab: Attached File  2off_preshigh.zip ( 2.67K ) Number of downloads: 125

Also, what's that plug in in between poulin and nair called amp simulator? Is it activated?

Hi Gab,
thanks for that, I loaded the impulse to naDIR and here is how it sounds with Le456

https://soundcloud.com/petr-14/rf20150906a-1

The LeCab did not work because I have windows 64 and Cubase did not load it. The same with prob with Kefir.
The naDIR seems the only free impulse loader available for win 64.

Attached Image

The plug in called "amp simulator" was not active. It is the default amp simulator which was part of the instalation of my Cubase AI (some cheaper Cubase version which i got with my soundcard)

Ok! I think that it's ok now. I would tweak a bit the EQ of this one to make it sound with more bass frequencies and less "trebbly". Do you think that the plug ins are working well now? Have you tried what happens when you turn on distortion?

yes I will adjust the bass and treble setting.
I think the plugins are working fine also with distortion.
