Bands through out history have changed their songs when playing live. Some have created memorable performances both good and bad. First, check Adrians new lesson, "The Doors Style" and then post a reply to today's question. Who's your favorite performer live and why? Who did you see live and wish you never would have bought the ticket? Do you prefer to hear the song played exactly like it is on the cd?

I loved the bands I've seen this year live: Blind Guardian, Kamelot, Sum 41, As I lay Dying, Heaven Shall Burn, Bad Religion. Other awesome performances were shown by Green Day, you have to see them if you have the chance.
I was kinda disappointed by Offspring and Blink 182 live, as their shows were very short. While Oddspring were playing great, Blink must have had a bad day...I'd still give them a second chance.

I really liked Rise Against live. They had a lot of energy and their sound quality was pretty amazing. I have seen bands like Foo FIghters who have been ultra impressive as well. I like when they change up the original recording and it sounds different. From their perspective it must get pretty boring playing the same songs over and over the same exact way. I saw Roger Waters 2 years ago and he still rocked it. He played Dark Side Of the Moon from beginning to end after the first set break and that was amazing. Sometimes you want to hear the exact same recording. Clapton this summer rocked it as well. His unbelievable solos are what made the show for me.

Really classic rock: Springsteen always put a hell of a show live, he gives it all for three hours straight, and even though I never listen to his albums at home anymore, I never miss a chance to watch him live, cause he always delivers andmakes the audience have a great time.

I don't regret attending any show, but I was a bit dissapointed with last year's Placebo concert in my hometown, as they barely played one hour and left. It was good, but soooo short, and they didn't interact much with the audience either

Not sure, but when I watch DVD's I would really like to hear SRV live. Best performers for me are definitely the ones with most energy and honesty in their playing. Improvisation is very important live, you can play like a "parrot" all day long, but it won't get you far, people like originality and showmanship on stage. Audience will always appreciate any original gesture with applause on stage, even if you make a mistake.
