i would like to know everything you know felt or heard about it because i am very likely to order it without ever playing on it.
also i don't understand are there two versions reg 1570 and 1570 prestige i really dont want to mess up my order if there are two models what do i need to know that i got the right one?

1570 is a prestige! there is no "non" prestige version of this!


let me explain to you whats what

any ibanez guitar ending in "50" has a pickgaurd....any with a "70" does not have a pickgaurd....1550 has one, 1570 does not

i appreciate the help very much but i dont appreciate the tone. anyways i thoght that because some guy kept saying on ebay that he is selling the prestige edition that was made by a special team in japan and not the regular one so i wanted some clarification thats all.

prestige = japanese factory workers
others = random factory workers (mostly south korea as far as I know)

The custom ones are, as far as I know, crafted by actual luthiers rather than factory workers - what ever that means

its a great playing guitar


you will love it, but do your research on floating trem guitars first.


"Team J craft" is a marketing gimmick to make prestiges seem cooler and more special....all prestiges have that stamped on the back of the neck, even the MIK S series prestiges


all prestiges (except for the new 3550) play the same, the price difference are usually cosmetic or pick ups


J customs are different than prestiges, they are available only in japan, and they are usually found used here in the US..they are top quality.

Dude just get that guitar already. You've been talking/writing about it since ages. It's a good guitar and if you like the look of it and are into shred you'll be happy with it.

I agree 100%, if you want to shred, you'll love a prestige. Just make sure it's a Team J Craft build, some prestiges are not (but 99.999% are). The necks take a bit to get used to (at least for me being a former Les Paulian), but it's worth the transformation.

From what I understand a 4 number model is a prestige, and 3 #'s are the cheaper ones. However, the 7321 (or w/e) is not a prestige, but it's a 7 string.

My guitar is a 2610... and doesn't have a pickguard haha. There's also a 2620 I believe with 2 pickups?

no offense, but the way you stated that can be confusing and somewhat wrong

here is why:


ALL prestige guitars EVER made in the HISTORY of IBANEZ say "prestige" and "team j craft" somewhere on them.



HOWEVER.

prior to the first prestige, the ibanez RG550's RG750's and any variations of those were and remain to be the BEST quality of guitar ibanez ever offered. any ibanez rg5XX series or 7XX series will beat ANY prestige out there.


note: this may not be the case for J customs.

Really? I thought:

RG Prestiges all are Team J Craft only (and some other ones). SZR Prestiges aren't Japanese, they are Korean I thought. We have a prestige at the local shop, and it does not say Team J Craft on it.

lol true. im trying to convince my self and i have been talking for ages but its only now i actually found a way of ordering it and got a price offer so im doing a last minute option test. soon we have a Jewish holiday and i will invest almost every single dime i have plus what i get from the holiday on guitar and stuff related to it.

oh and one last thing can you also play rhythm on it? rammstein,soad that kinda stuff of shred only?

I tried it and never needed convincing - I liked it a lot and bought it without hesitation. You won't regret having a RG1570

If you don't like the sound after a while you can still change the pickups. Just make sure that you have a good amp. With a bad amp every guitar will sound like crap.

I bought and still have mine, I absolutly love it, I bought mine unplayed off ebay, I was looking for a half decent guitar quickly and it seemed a good option, my Rg1570 is "Team J Craft" but I have had a korean made prestige as well and in fairness the differences where very small, not enough for me to ever say "nope I`m not getting a Korean one again"

I didnt like the pickups in mine so I swapped them out for a set of Kent Armstrongs, I just found that the tone kind of broke up under lots of gain, where as better quality pups tend to keep a nice smooth tone even with lots of gain.

The necks are ultra thin, very comfortable for me and the flat fingerboard allows a really super low action set up, all in all I`d highly recomend getting one, I dont think you`ll be disappointed but suggest changing the pickups, they for me are the weakest link in the whole guitar.

I agree with Chris, you will probably want to change the pickups, cause the stock pups sound very thin, not bad, but little balls. I have RG2570 wich is basicly the same guitar, and I changed the pickups to Evolution, and now it sound´s awsome. This is a quality instrument for a decent price.
