You have to delete your browser cache to get it to load a "new" player.

or in Firefox its: Edit --> Preferences --> Advanced --> Network --> "You're cache is currently using..." --> Clear Now

BTW: To clear cache on IE (any version) for the current web page you can just hold down the cntrl key and then hit the F5 key.
To find the download icon you must go to the lesson you want and then click the small down arrow icon shown on the right side of the backing track.

Good to hear you like it - hopefully this should make it much easier to submit your takes to the REC board!

I've cleared all the browser's cache and....no results 
Any suggestions ? (I'm using Firefox 4.0.1)

You can find the small icon next to the backing : http://gyazo.com/f17cfd73375e64a196414817b36cbc92
Can you see this?
If not, try clearing whole cache of your browser (select everything for the time period) : http://gyazo.com/d80f679d44ac7ee70d22b29e634cfdb8
You just need to make your browser load the "new" GMC player and you should be able to see the backings download option.

It's so cool because I can slow the track to any speed with Windows Media Player. I did this last night with one of Cosmin's lessons.

awesome! thanks so much for all your hard work! this remains my favorite guitar site! i am on vacation right now in cabo (yes i brought my guitar) and downloading the backing tracks will make this vacation that much better because the internet connection is not good enough to stream! starting the download of about 10 backing tracks right now before i go to sleep

No, you just need to make sure that your browser loads the "new version" of the site.
To do that you need to delete your browser cache/history.
In Firefox it's done like this : Tools> Clear recent history (range :everything)

What exactly is the problem mate? Did you manage to download it? What computer do you use, what player?

Backing tracks are in mp3 format. You should be able to download them on your computer and then use "media player" or any other similar media software to open the files. What is exactly happening?

Backings are downloadable from the actual lessons (example : http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Classic-Punk-Ramones/ ).
Open the backing player to the right in the lesson (where you choose to play different backing tracks of the lesson) and look for the "down arrow". Click on that small icon to download the backing track.
Please let me know if you found your way there.
