Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Original lesson: Fairy's Dance by Cosmin Lupu

here is my progress on this one. I actually didn't film the recorded take so it is a dubbed film/sound however the recording you hear is one take with the harmony part added on another track.

Hello Pat, first things first, I am really happy to see that you tackled this one smile.gif

Now, for the observations:

1) Timing - as a general remark, you have some issues in the part where the track is doubled - starting from min 0:29 - you need to focus on being more balanced here.

2) The trills in the main theme and the developed main theme are a bit fuzzy - you need to get them more defined - min 0:03 for instance

3) When the part at 0:21 begins, you should focus on tying up the notes together better - they should slide into one another, not sound separated.

4) Missing notes - such as 0:26, 0:40 for instance.

I think you need to spend some more time with this one at slow tempos, focusing on nailing all the notes and being as rhythmic and clean as possible.

Keep rocking mate!

Cosmin

Hi mate! I think that Cosmin already gave the point that must be worked on this take. It's a good decision to practice this one over the main video audio, that makes you adjust timing. There are some sections that are trickier (the ones that Cosmin marked), I would isolate this part and work on them over metronome to make every note sound good.

Keep on the hard work! wink.gif

Playing solo styles on acoustic guitar was always a bit harder then electric so the choice You made can lead Your playing to the very good position smile.gif

Cosmin pointed the most important ascpects. I think that it's not that bad with Your timming but it's probably caused by the moment of hesitation about "where this fingers should go" smile.gif I think when You master the take in case of memory...I mean...fingers memoy than Your timming will be also improved.

As for the missing notes I bet You know each one that fell out form Your fingers smile.gif It starts pretty nice but the further we go the more flaws tend to show so...It need more practice smile.gif Well done Pat! smile.gif
