Many moons ago, I bought this album, just for this solo, crazy I know but I loved it. I don't know who it is, maybe Ken can tell us.
To go straight to it click here >>> https://youtu.be/5AFqhbOhDH8?t=100 or listen to the whole thing and Dame Kiri Te Kanawa's awesome voice. https://youtu.be/5AFqhbOhDH8 -------------------- SEE MY GMC CERTIFICATE “Success is not obtained overnight. As far as I can tell from a bit of searching it's either Judd Proctor or Mitch Dalton on guitar. Don't know them though.
https://www.discogs.com/es/release/4696267-...stra-Blue-Skies Judging purely by playing style... Judd Proctor here: And Mitch Dalton here: I'd guess the solo is Mitch. I'm not basing it on anything but those YouTube videos though. I checked some more videos out from Mitch Dalton and I like his playing This post has been edited by Caelumamittendum: Oct 14 2021, 07:54 PM |

Thanks Ben,
Watching that first one made me want to pull all of my vinyl from out of the attic, trouble is, I sold my Gyrodek Out of the two you sent, Mitch Dalton seems the most likely by listening. Cheers -------------------- SEE MY GMC CERTIFICATE “Success is not obtained overnight. It comes in instalments; you get a little bit today, a little bit tomorrow until the whole package is given out. Mitch Dalton kinda inspired me to pick up my guitar a bit actually and look into that more jazzy style again. Well there's something good that's come out of this post, nice one buddy -------------------- SEE MY GMC CERTIFICATE “Success is not obtained overnight. You can grab a turntable under $60 that will convert your vinyl to MP3 which is handy It's a regular record player as well. You can also get cassette tape units that do the same thing. Then again, folks are starting to play cassettes just as they are and skip the digital part entirely. Posted about this a bit ago. I get vinyl, but bringing back cassettes seems to be a purely hipster thing and I'm just not that hip evidently

Cheers That guy is a brilliant player imho. It's hard not to be drawn to his playing style. I'm not really even a jazz guy, but he's just so darn articulate with it. The results are so musical and emotive. I think he should start a POLYPHIA style band but based on his style. Yes, absolutely. I'm a bit too young to have used it a whole lot, but I did have cassette tapes as as young kid, and I do remember having these problems. |

You can grab a turntable under $60 Nah, that wouldn't work mate, I had one of these https://www.michell-engineering.co.uk/miche...rodec-turntable I also had Meridian monoblock poweramps and a Meridian preamp, feeding some Kef floorstanding speakers. I could probably get a pretty close sound for a lot less money (the law of diminishing returns some in with audio equipment) but I know I'd be disappointed with that. Great idea though. Please don't take this a bragging Cheers This post has been edited by Phil66: Oct 14 2021, 08:53 PM -------------------- SEE MY GMC CERTIFICATE “Success is not obtained overnight. Cool version. I have no idea who the guitarist is and there's no credits listed on line for the individual tracks.
Usually www.allmusic.com has that stuff noted but not for this record. www.discogs.com lists the two guys you mentioned. Either of those could be the soloist. Your guess is as good as mine. -------------------- - Ken Lasaine
