I know that people are interested in rock/metal radio stations. Some news of a radio station that whilst it isn't 100% rock/metal for all its output does have a rock/metal 2 hour program.
It's the 'Saturday Rocks' program on a UK based station called Rhubarb Radio situated in Birmingham. The station also streams its broadcasts on the internet so you can listen to the station from anywhere via the Intenet and it archives programs so you can listen back to a broadcast when you want to. It's at www.rhubarbradio.com and the rock prog is hosted by DJ Jenny Tate and goes out on Saturdays at 1-3pm British time.
Three things of particular interest apart from the general focus on rock:
1/ Saturday Rocks play a lot of up and coming groups along with the more established names.
2/The program has 'showcased' Instructor Ben Higgens' group 'The Reckoning' and plays their music quite frequently.
3/ They may be broadcasting a few 'up and coming' (to the UK that is) international acts soon including Adrian Figallo's 'The Faith Fanatics', Gab and Luciana's 'Cirse, Ivan Mihaljevic, Fernado Culen's 'Acid Rain' and Lian's "Tersivel'. Possibly more to come
So if you want to hear the music that some of the GMC Instructors make played on the radio take a listen.
Also for those on facebook the radio prog has a fans page 'Saturday Rocks!!' which includes up to date info on forthcoming program content, gig reviews, etc.
Thanks for info Tony, I'll be listening to this radio from now on!
Thanks, Tony. I will check it out.
i feel important , but i listened to some recorded show, and this girl really plays some amazing music, i listened for about 15 minutes, and van halen was LOUD in my studio
I haven't listened to radio for ages! Not on purpose. But there is something cool about radio program, "You don't know what is next", you always surprise your self, "Wow, I haven't heard this song for years" that kind of thing.
And also, best new songs/bands you hear on radio, somewhere...
Quick update...
Jenny has told me that she intends to play something from Ivan Mihaljevik's new cd this Saturday 18th Sept on her show.
If you can listen and give Ivan your support .
