How do i download the backing tracks and the audio? Im new

You can't, but if you ask the instructor for the backing, they will probably post it for you.

Am I missing something here but can't you just record the BT when it plays.

you can do what you can do. but always keep in mind there is a copyright on the tracks

Please do not discuss and/or suggest how to circumvent GMC rules. Just ask an instructor if you want a backing track.
