Got a new toy today: a Peavey 6505 2x12 combo!
The amp is two years old, in mint condition, was retubed a year ago and has a mod for noise suppression on the lead channel. For 750 euros I'd say this was a good buy.
I wanted a metal amp; I got a metal amp. This amp is sick. The gain is just unholy. One drawback tho: it only comes loud, and then louder! Do NOT buy this amp for living room jamming. Luckily I have a garage. And now the whole neighborhood knows where it is!
Now just wait till I get those bareknuckle pups for my explorer...
Did you expect Bedroom-levels when you bought a 120 watt combo?!? ^^
Congrats! May it serve you well!
That's a nice amp! But it's a bit of a MONSTER just for the Bedroom. It will probably sound best at near stage volume as it's designed to be LOUD. You can always try to "pre-gain" your signal using a distortion box or what not in order to keep the amp at a lower level, but at that point, you are kinda defeating the purpose of having that amp.
You will LOVE it when jamming in the Garage. It will easily keep up with the volume of a live drum kit.
Todd
Congrats on getting one of the best amps out there, especially for rock and metal. Gotta get me one some day.
Congrats mate! Thats kinda not so LOUD for bedroom levels.
Cool, great amp!!!
Congratulations man!
