Hi mate,

This is another great choice for you. You can play the whole thing but now you need to focus on polish details that I consider very important to take your playing to a new level. Darius work is killer on this one, because behind the notes, there is a lot of work on dynamics, groove and other expression elements. These are some general comments to guide you on what I think you should focus:

- Timing: There are many parts that are not tight. I'm talking about short phrases like the one at 00:22 or 00:26. You tend to rush a bit the rhythm in some parts. The whole lesson needs to sound groovier.

- Cleanness: Besides the last lick that is not consistent, you can take care of the tapping parts and also that bend in the higher string/frets in which there is an open string sounding.

- Your vibrato and bending needs some focus here. I notice that your vibrato is irregular and sometimes it's not connected with the backing's groove. Adjust the pitch of your bends (for example the one at 00:16).

- Notice the difference between tapping and tapped harmonics. The second option is what Darius is doing in the lesson.

- There is an important work on Dynamics done in original lesson that I recommend you to try to emulate. Get the most from all those different pick intensities done to give more feeling to the phrases.

Hey there again. I love the fact you choose this lesson. It's actually one of my favorite smile.gif

There is a little secret behind it. The only reason it is dedicated for beginenrs is the fact that a beginner is capable of doing it right it it takes just the right (usually long) amount of time and work. This lesson is a complete pack of almost anything that could happen in guitar playing but in a very little and reasonably simple pieces. Misleading could be the point of view from a speed and notes number point of view. Gabriel has already pointed the importance of everything that happens around each notes - picking strength, picking direction, articulation, dynamics,ornamnets...literally everything. IF you look closely you could notice that each note could be dwscribed with at least 3 separated parameters, The trick is to carefulyl listen and copy the full concept. That's the point where you ge ta full profit of this lesson.

Treat it as a long term practise. Get some time and patience. Nobody rushes you. It's not the time that counts but the consistency and discipline while practising.

There is lot's of "not copied details" yet before we could go to some constructive feedback. At this point I can only see a "first-care-needed" mistakes that You are surely aware of and you can fix them on your own before we could help you with harder ones.

These are - missing notes (lack of notes or hand sync issue that created a percussive sound instead of a note) and notes execution issues - picking where a legato should be or missing palm muting.

It's liek a sketch by far and too much general mistakes you can spot by yourself. I'm, truly hpiong to see you working more on this lesson. Make as many takes as you want, take as much time as you need and post for more feedabck but try to focus on a little things to separate one problem and focus on solution before going into struggle about everything that could be tweaked.

First let me say well done on picking this ambitious lesson. This one has a LOT of moving parts to it. While it's true that no single technique is beyond the ability of a well practiced beginner, taken as a whole this is a LOT to get right in one pass. You have again selected one of the more challenges RECs you could have possibly found. I applaud you on diving right in to the ones that many people would simply skip due to their difficulty or just drop instead of completing them.
It looks like you have the piece down as a whole which is worth celebrating as there is a good bit of stuff here to play. You have a good understanding of the overall vibe of the piece I think. Where it starts to have issues is in the details. As the other guys have pointed out, there are several bends not to pitch, several scale runs/arps that are not quite in synch with the beat. A bit of rushing/lagging here and there. These are all "Spit and Polish" type of things that come along with lots and lots of repetition.

My suggestion is to break this thing down in to workable chunks. Taking it all in one pass is just too much imho. It's to easy to miss tiny mistakes because the brain is already thinking about the next complex part. Chop it in half, then chop the halves in half, then chop those in half. Then you will have smaller chunks that you can work on one by one and eventually put them all together.

It's good to submit a rec take a bit early sometimes just to get some feedback to see where you are. These are graded quite seriously as each one passed is well earned. Nobody gets a walk through pass on REC lessons. It's not for participation, a pass is for excellence. Just like playing guitar, the only way is through ardent, disciplined, practice. Each one of these you pass impacts your overall rank among other GMCers. Any GMCers you see that have completed several of these have earned each and every one. I have no doubt you can play this. It's the last bit of detail and polish that needs work. If you get used to putting this degree of precision and finishing polish on your playing in general I think you'll find you LEVEL as a player.

I agree with the detailed feedback given here.

My overall impression is that you have probably rushed the practicing of this lesson. For example I notice some hand sync issues that have impact on your tone and cleanliness - these I think you could easily fix knowing your level.

It also seems to me you are mostly focused on playing all the notes "correctly". This is of course how anyone would start things off, however the next step is for you to try to really connect with the melody.

The technical way of describing this would be to nail all the little details which we have already commented on. The non technical way would be to try to play with more "feeling" - which is what we are all struggling with. The devil is in the details here: control your timing (each section calls for you to be either on the beat, or slightly before or after it), how hard do you strike each note, perhaps there is a micro slide or bend involved? etc etc

Given that this one is labelled level 3 I will give you a 6. I still do think this is a very valuable lesson for more advanced players as well though, given all the subtleties.
