Hi people.
I traded in my Bogner Duende amp today.
Right after work I went and picked up my new baby
I recorded some clips right after I got it home and had played around with it a little,
and I thought I'd let you guess what it is
I've been trying out tons of amps to find the right one.
I was looking for the perfect clean/crucnh sound.
Now I've found the best clean sounding amp there is, for me (at least the best I've heard yet).
Sounds like what I've been looking for for a long time
Here's a clip:
With backing:
what_amp.mp3 ( 4.12MB )
: 247
Guitars Only:
what_amp_guitars.mp3 ( 4.12MB )
: 216
The amp is mic'ed up with a Shure Beta57a.
Added a tiny bit of reverb on the guitars in Cubase (and Delay on the solo/melody guitars).
Recorded in a hurry, but sounds pretty good, in my opinion at least
I'm gonna work some more on mic placement etc., but for now I just wanna play
Hope you like it

The new amp is... *drumroll*
REINHARDT THE 18
This is pictures of the actual amp:
Designers description:
Our first product, and still one of the all time favorites is the 18. Based on the 18 watt Marshall with a few circuit changes. Goes anywhere from sweet clean tones, to classic rock, to heavier gain, but not too heavy. Think AC/DC, Van Halen, ABB, etc. This amp does it all, and does it so well. Touch sensitivity on either channel is second to none. Play lightly, it's sweet cleans, dig in a little and its mild bluesy overdrive. Dig in harder and its Classic rock at its finest. No need for pedals with this, but it loves a good boost as well. Do not confuse with the original 18 watt Marshall amp, this amp has all that, and much more.
The first channel, or "normal" channel is based on the stock amp, nice chimey cleans to a killer smokey blues. Great feel and dynamics.
The second channel or "bright" channel is the hotrodded channel. This channel has had the tremolo removed, and another gain stage and full range EQ added in its place. With a master volume on this channel, it can go from amazing chimey clean to nice crunchy gritty blues, to a killer classic and hard rock tone. No over the top heavy muddy gain here, but a killer hot plexi level.
For those who wonder if 18 watts is enough to gig with, the answer is YES. Several customers report that its great to be able to turn an amp up enough at a gig to get that sweet power tube distortion without being yelled at be the soundman, or the club owner. Easily loud enough to be heard over all but the most heavy handed drummer.
Amps come standard with
* PEC Mil Spec pots
* GT/Mullard RI 1212AX7/ ECC83, JJ ECC803, TungSol RI 12ax7OR EI ECC83
* JJ EL84
* EH 6CA4/EZ81 rectifier
* Transformers are Heyboer copies of the original Radio Spares trannies
* Mallory 150 caps, 1% tolerance resistors, all teflon wire and shieled input cable for low noise.
I'll write a review on it after spending some more time with it,
and I'll post some new clips (different styles) in the next few days
Congratulations Xuestor! You were the only one who guessed it right
sounds like a vox chime to me
I would say Vox, but who knows
Thanks for the votes guys
After work tomorrow I'll tell you what it is, and write a bit about it
I also think it's a Vox.
That is so clean and warmth.. thats what I love on tube amps.
I voted for Fender twin... never tried vox.. but might be.
Whatever it is it sounds really good, I live the sound a lot.
I like what you are playing too, any chance you could post the backing, I wouldnt mind having a try at it myself.
Cheers.
I can't tell exactly...but if its a stock amp, its not Marshall or Fender..... so I will go for Vox, since it have a vintage warm sound. Btw. I learned yesterday by shredding forums about amps, that there is some really dirty tricks that can be done here, I believe that these electronic guy's can make my dog sound like a Marshall if necessary! But the point here is that don't expect a "stock" amp to sound like Your favourite players amp, since these guy's have technicians who's adjusting the bias of the tubes, replacing the tubes with different kinds, replacing capacitors & resistors and other spooky stuff. I thought I was pretty good on electronics, but this is like rocket science....

I'm pretty sure it's not the Marshall, I don't hear Vox or Fender either.
Folding on the Reinheart and Savage amps.
Leaves me with what I hear, an Egnater Rebel
EDIT: I hope it's not a Marshall since I put it the way I did
Reinhardt The 18!
I would guess... AC30, or bassman. None of the others seem to quite fit really..
I voted Egnater Rebel 20, but it's a wild guess really
Congrats!
Is it a Vox? It sounds great!
Out of curiosity, what did you dislike about the Bogner?
Egnater Rebel 20?
My bet goes for the bassman then! Though it could just as easily be the Savage..
I mic'ed with the Shure Beta57a centered in front of the cone,
to get that Voxy high end chime.
And I believe that fooled quite some people
Sorry JVM, not Bassman or Savage either
First post updated
that is a really good looking amp!
congrats man! she sounds like she would take pedals like a champ
That amp has a nice retro look to it. Cool sound too.
Awesome Didnt know you were getting a new amp!
Congratulations Paal, may it serve you well! (until the next one ofc)
I was the first one to vote Reinhardt
I loved the audio clips you uploaded, very clear tone,
