GMC Forum _ CHILL OUT _ Bbc Top Gear?

Posted by: Todd Simpson Apr 4 2012, 06:08 AM

The show is on BBC AMERICA here in the states, and BBC2 in the U.K. It's always funny, entertaining, just generally good. I"m not even a huge car nut. Anybody else love this show?

Yep.

I wish some of it wasn't as scripted as it is. I don't think it use to be quite as much, but they seem to be taking things that may have just been happy accidents in the past and doing similar things on purpose now, whether that is in the un pc banter or in the challenges etc.

but I still never miss it and it's one of the greatest shows out there.

Never heard about that comedian until today but he is a funny guy. I checked out some other clips on youtube. Also, I found some clips he was talking about where Hamster talked about his book and his wife. These guys are not really that famous here in the states so you wouldn't see them on talk shows and such.

I saw the episode where he crashed, and then the next season he was back. I didn't know it was actually as bit a deal as it was, the book, the recovery etc. I have lived through a couple of near fatal car wrecks so I feel the guy's pain. He does get serious talking about it and I guess that happens to me as well. Being that close to death is a bit of a bummer.

Yeah I absolutely love Top Gear because I love cars although the increased scripted nature of the show with deliberate, obvious stupid 'mistakes' and 'oh, whoops, look what I've done' type stuff has really ruined a lot of it for me. I still watch it, though but kind of just sigh inwardly whilst I wait for them to get past their stupid rehearsed 'funny accidents' and talk about the damn Ferrari already which those of us who can't afford it have been waiting around to look at ok ?!! smile.gif
