You could try GoldWave, I havent really used it myself but its what my brother used to record and mix his music...

Andrew, why is it everytime I see your mug on the board I know I am going to have to read and read a lot? /jk anyway I think I have it figured out using Reaper. Am I on the right track? Hah !
