Thanks man smile.gif

Well, as mention in my last pm I'd like to have a weekly routine / plan that I can use once a day for one hour. Those routine(s) should contain the following techniques/topics (for now):
- Warmup
- AP
- Sweep
- Legato
- Theory (e.g. scales etc.)

Starting with very easy difficulty level and increase level week by week..
What do you think?

Hi mate! You already created the template for your routine! biggrin.gif

However I would like to try something new with you. As you have just one hour per day we will give more attention to one technique per day. So we would have something like this.

https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Altern...king-Workout-2/

- Theory (10 minutes)
https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Chord-...jor-7th-Chords/
https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Chord-...Minor-7-Chords/

Theory Guide

TUESDAY:

- Alternate Picking (10 minutes)

- Legato (10 minutes)

- Theory (30 minutes)

FRIDAY:

Hey Gab,

here are some recordings..

Progress is going quite slow, but there is some smile.gif
I've got problems when shifting positions when playing Bens legato excercise and I needed a lot of practice time just to remember the patterns of Muris' AP 3rds lesson.
Hope I'm on the right track with the sweep excercise..

Hi mate! Great to see you working! yes, progress can be slow but if you work on this diary, it will be solid and that's what we are looking for. Slow but solid steps.

I notice that you still have problems when you change positions in Ben's lesson, but the main thing to focus on those patterns is timing. You have to get tighter 16th notes in those legatos, put all your effort and mind on that while you play it.

The other two lessons are on the right track, just keep on playing them, and use metronome to increase timing between those backings and the next one available (faster).

Also, feel free to start learning any of the other lessons suggested.

Hi Mad! This sounds very good! At first I would like to invite you to share these things, just to break the ice. wink.gif

- Some of your favorites compositions, songs.
- Some ideas and/or songs that you composed and you like.
- Your thought about what your compositions are lacking, and why you think it's happening.

- Some of your favorites compositions, songs.

I'd just like to share some bands/albums I dig constantly the past month/weeks, so you might get the styles I like:

- Alter Bridge (Blackbird)
- Breach (It's Me God, Kollapse)
- The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble
- Steven Wilson (The Raven That Refused To Sing)
- Mastodon
- Down (Over The Under)
- Entombed
- Foo Fighters
- Gojira
- Kvelertak
- My Sleeping Karma

QUOTE

There's not really much to share right now - just the one I 'composed' for your creativity workout:
https://soundcloud.com/mad-gmc/gabscreativityworkout_scene1
Can't find the other (unfinished) I sent you via pm
QUOTE
- Your thought about what your compositions are lacking, and why you think it's happening.

I think what I need is not having a starting idea only, but to know where to go from there..
I hear a lot of music where I can't really say if there's some kind of structure involved - it just sounds good to me and I enjoy listening to it smile.gif

Hi mate! I get curious about the band "My Sleeping Karma", maybe because of their name. I'm now listening to them at Spotify. Really cool band! I like them. smile.gif It's true that there are not very defined structures in their music, it's more like a journey. I can connect it a bit more with a movie.

Let's start a project: A 4 songs EP. What style do you imagine your first solo ep could be? Would it be instrumental?

OK, sounds great! I'd prefer instrumental for the songs, but I'd like to have 1 of them with vocals..
I think an EP in the style of 'Breach' mixed with 'My Sleeping Karma' influences would be cool - what do you think?

And here's a recording for the second legato-lesson by Muris @ 100bpm. That's the fastest I can go with this technique at the moment and it's far from perfect..
