Just wanted to stop by a give a quick hello to everyone here. I was informed by this site by a friend of mine who just recently signed here as well. His name is Jer.

I have been playing guitar for 20+ years but was mainly a rhythm player. It has only been the last year or so I have taken a huge interest in lead playing.

I was checking out this site for about a week and realized this place has a lot to offer. I definately need work in some areas which I beleive is hindering me from grasping a lot of concepts. I have been discouraged and gave up many times so I feel this is a last ditch effort. If I cant get it I'll stay a rhythm player for the rest of my life! lol tongue.gif

Metal is where I enjoy my music. Opeth is one of my favorite bands!

Again, Great site you have here!

Dan

Very nice welcome everyone and thank you!

My goal is to be a shredder. Although I feel Im very far from that. Im 34 and developed a lot of bad habits while playing and wondering if Im too old to be a shredder. Rectifing those bad habits is going to be tough but I do do downstoking and upstroking picking already! cool.gif

Im still trying to find my way around the site here and exploring the many ptions you have to offer.

Anyways...
I started last night working with the Pentatonic Workshop level 1 and can't wait to see those skills develop in speed and accuracy.

Dan

I have been spending the day reading a lot of the forums here today, Talk about information overload!!! laugh.gif

Part of me wishes I just knew this stuff already but with anything it takes time. I know in the industry I am in in, with its constantly changing technologies, Im learning every day.

I haven't been this excited about learning guitar again in a long time.
