when im recording something i wanna be able to listen to what im recording over. i use audacity. does anyone know how to do that?

What kind of audio interface are you using? Are you using your soundcard? If do, then know that there is always a latency issue.

Make two separate tracks..On one you will record , on other one the backing will be..You should hear the backing while you record
