Check my pick!
My pick has the following wear on it: [attachment=31477:1.png] [attachment=31478:8.png] What does this mean? Do I angle my pick too much? Do I show too much of the pick? Why are only one side rub down? Why isnt' worn out evenly across the pick? How does your pick look? Do you have the same questions as me? No or Yes? Please Discuss! My pick usually looks like yours, i don't think that you are doing something wrong... I don't have one with me now, but I will post a pick later. -------------------- My lessons

I'd say it's normal wear. It has to do with the angle between pick and string, which is a matter of how you learn. The tone varies a bit depending on angle.

Recently had a guy at music shop throw me a bunch of accessories. Strings picks tools. Threw me like 4 different types of picks all 1.0 mm. And the tortex sharp picks are great. I like how pointy they are and seem toake me able to hit the string when and how I want to much better and wear much less than other picks I've used.
Here's a link. http://www.jimdunlop.com/product/tortex-sharp |

I really recommend them for ever shredder. -------------------- My lessons

Yeah Gabe! You can get them here, for instance: http://www.thomann.de/ro/dunlop_ultex_jazz...hn_petrucci.htm But the delivery cost is about 30 euro, which means about 6 times the cost of the picks Pretty silly, right?
The PRS dealer here, also sells Dunlop, so I got them from him. They feel a little tiny at first, but then, after more playing, your hand gets used to them and the movements are reduced when picking. For me, I think it was a matter of the mind telling me that I need to move less with the hand because the pick is smaller wicked huh? |
