I think this is because there are only a few available and still being made by people, not as series. Just like Sticks

That is awesome!

The first question I had was, how does it work? So, here you go!

QUOTE
What is the Eigneharp?

In essence, the Eigenharp is an electronic musical instrument that has incorporated a number of other musical devices, such as a synthesizer and step sequencer, into an elegant and portable design. Standing 4 feet tall and weighing about 6 pounds, the professional level Eigenharp Alpha actually looks like something that might be played in a Star Wars Cantina. In fact, just looking at the complex array of buttons and switches on the body of the instrument would cause one to think that only a Jedi could master such an inscrutable device. In addition to the 120 keys along the main board, there are also 12 larger keys below, two strip controllers on each side, and a breath pipe at the top. However, once the knowledge to use it correctly is obtained, the Eigenharp allows for the musician to improvise and create melodies using a seemingly limitless range of sounds and beats.

What Can the Eigenharp Do?

The 120 keys along the main board are extremely sensitive, enabling them to detect the position of a finger to within minute microns and allowing the Eigenharp to exhibit a very broad range of expression. In addition to being pressure sensitive, the individual keys can also be moved up or down to control the pitch of the note, or side to side to control a filter. This, of course, permits an even greater level of expression and allows musicians to create sounds that are truly unique and distinguished.

Below the main board are 12 special keys that have the same degree of sensitivity as the main keys only they are larger and much more durable. This makes them ideal for live drumming or percussion.

The two strip controllers along each side of the Eigenharp each have separate functions. One strip controller is connected to the pitch of the instrument while the other is connected to a filter that can either fade-in or fade-out the sounds of the instrument.

A breath pipe is located at the top of the Eigenharp. Not only can this attachment be used to simulate virtually any wind instrument, but it can also be utilized to modulate and add effects to any of the sounds produced by the Eigenharp.

To combine all these features together in one package, the software used to run the Eigenharp needed to be both amazingly powerful and incredibly flexible. In an interview on the G4 program Attack of the Show, Eigenlabs musician Finaly Crowther stated that in order to ensure that the instrument stays relevant, the design team configured it so that all the sounds are stored on and can be imported from a computer. This allows the Eigenharp to support the playback of samples, audio plug-ins, and any midi files.

$6000 is still a lot, but maybe not so much given how much technology went into this thing and it's possibilities!
