To me Fender is taking the big step not to rely anymore on the baby-boomer generation, they aren't the ages between 40-60 (ages where one likely has the most money to spend on a guitar). These (most of us) are the guys who were born into the modded guitar era.

Oh no you are tempting me to go down the path of misery and tumaniguitars. Speaking of which... those pickups, what size are they? Could I just swap them for humbuckers if I don't like the stock ones? Or would that be blasphemy? They are not humbucker sized so a direct swap is not possible but there are guys that wind humbucking/noiseless and hot pkups in the JM size. *Putting normal humbuckers in a Jazzmaster negates most of what is cool about it. Same thing with the tailpiece. The necks are the same as Strat necks and the body only affects the tone minimally. Pkups and tailpiece/bridge are the "unique" elements in this guitar. They are also the elements that limit it's mass appeal. This post has been edited by klasaine: Nov 9 2019, 07:26 PM -------------------- - Ken Lasaine

Coincidentally, I ran across this article today about a replacement pup for Jazzmasters. https://www.guitarworld.com/news/lollar-sha...the-blademaster |
