GMC Forum _ CHILL OUT _ Confession(s)

I spend 2-3 hrs. a day practicing the guitar. A whole lot of that time is spent surfing between licks. I unplugged the Cat 5 cable from my computer this morning for 1 hr. and really sat down to practice. I feel like I really accomplished something. 
Do you have anything you'd like to confess to GMC?

I can easily sit down to work on theory and hear something on the radio and spend the rest of my session jamming along to the classic rock station

Nothing to confess as I practice the way I like to. Nothing to prove to anybody nor to myself. If I spend my practice time surfing on the web for new songs or lessons then it's not a lost of time and as far as I enjoy it I don't really see the problem in it. 
PS: but I wouldn't tell my friends I practice guitar 2 hours a day in that case

i cant seem to write lyrics for a song...EVER
guitar parts and riffs come no problem to me, but when it comes to writing words down i just plain cant do it. the day i write lyrics to my own song is the day i join dream theater

I have a very specific goal , but I haven't been disciplined these days. This week I have only practiced monday and tuesday, I have to be more disciplined.

My AP SUCKS....... 
I used to get up early to play......haven't done this in awhile so I feel like I'm getting lazy.

Hmmm, we don't have to pay for any absolvation here I hope???
1) I can't remember any text or name, not even on my own songs, or people I met one day ago.
2) I'm too lazy to clean my house, I rather pay someone else to do it while I'm playing guitar.....
3) I'm cheating while playing over chord changes, since I always seems to play some dimished stuff, no matter what chord it is....
4) I use to tell my business associates that I'm really busy - but I'm not, only with writing songs and play.
5) I like only blondes with long hair.
6) I once sleeped in a mega-bass speaker on a discoteque in Denmark before a guard large as a house carried me out.
7) I LIE far too much. Therefore one of these statements is false. Can anyone guess which ???

I practice 3 hours a day every day and I still can`t play the things you play or even remotely the way you play them... maybe I should get a playstation

B ) Sometimes when I play I wish for someone to send me an instant message so I can have an excuse to put my guitar down.
c ) Sometimes when I play I get annoyed when people send me instant messages because I have to put my guitar down.
d ) When I start getting frustrated, I restring a Floyd with heavier gauge strings than it had before so I can pretend that I'm doing something very important that will change my playing as soon as I'm done.
e ) I sometimes believe I am better than I am.
f ) I often believe I'm worse than I am.
g ) In order to stay interested in guitar, when my playing isn't improving, I buy another guitar. I own a lot of guitars.

did that file to your nut hurt very much?

... man, we are getting old Monte !!! ... LOL
For years i used to sleep an average of 4, max 5 hours per night ... enough extra time to practice a few hours in the morning or at night and still be able to manage a busy working schedule.
Lately i feel tired all the time and way to often i decide to take nap instead to just grab the guitar and practice ... well aware, energy would be back if i would do so.
GMC needs a "Wake up service" feature ..

Funny, it sounds exactly like me, we must have the same sort of childhood!
even though I know how much you like michelle, my vote is #5
How could You guess that? Ofc. I like ALL women. They may come in different colours, styles and attributes, but as long as they reminds me only a tiny little bit of Michelle (or Cameron), they are OK.

Haha! My guess is that you lie about number 5 because that would limit your choises in life

I don't practice as much as I should!
I play a lot, but not practicing, just playing for the love of it
I suck at writing lyrics (serious ones)...
My soloing is really low/mediocre, but I'll live
I spend too much time tweaking sound and fiddling around with my equipment instead of actually playing (but I like it)..
I enjoy Bon Jovi, Journey, Roxette and Lionel Richie (Feels good to get that out in the open...)

My confession is... Sometimes I lie to my friends that I'll be busy at night when all I wanna do is... playing guitar! (today I did it again

I procrastinate as well...I clean up when I should play guitar. I play guitar when I should work out. I work out when I should clean up
I also like Bon Jovi and Roxette, especially the ballads.
I often pretend to know things or songs or bands or movies when I really don't...
Sometimes I check GMC 5 times a day to see if there's a new thread or an answer to one of my posts.
I don't like my every day job....
