Sometimes, having a nice rhythmic line in a solo is better than just play 21309824509843095835 notes per second. And this is a very good example of that. Great video!!. Thanks to share. Do you know Bireli Lagrene?. He owns the rhythm too

Rhythm Placement (5) He definitely has it, nice of you to share this Ramiro. :D Sound (5) Sounds just like the original! Is this something like jazz shred? It seems hillariously difficult to me This post has been edited by Jakub Luptovec: May 15 2009, 10:30 AM -------------------- my youtube account with riffs and ideas: https://www.youtube.com/user/Phoenygzus

I didn't like it too much to be honest with you guys. This is standard rhythm changes chord progression and John wasn't really describing changes but rather riffing trough the solo. The best part of the whole solo was chord stabs, for me at least... Are you talking about lessons? That's some other guy showing his song. I saw John Pizzarelli with Tommy Emmanuel and some other people. The guy is a guitar beast but I do agree that these changes were not that much complicated. I think they still sound good and looks like a hard task to do this type of groove without any mistake or a wrong note. Check this one out I was really impressed -------------------- Check out my Instructor profile

I know man what you're saying But this music is not for musicians and analisys. It's quite commercial type of jazz and swingy feel. This is for us to enjoy, for people that like cool music. That's how I see it at least. I didn't care if he went back to the root through extended and altered chords or through normal triads I was just saying that I liked the music.

I know what you mean but my trained ear can't enjoy riffing blues type soloing over rhythm changes for couple of minutes. I want to hear alterations and cool approach patterns, thats what gets me going at least hahaha This is what Berklee did to you -------------------- Check out my Instructor profile

I can enjoy anything that has quality. I can't say that John Pizzarelli is not a good player. I like his playing because it does catch my attention and I guess that's because he is good. Of course there are better ones but saying that he is not good because his solo was bluesy over some good jazz progression is not my oppinion. Bluesy solo over jazz chords can be quite attractive as well.
