Chooseing A Style!

I have been working through various instructors lessons and practicing various kinds of techniques, Alternate picking, Sweeping, some legato etc. But i dont feel I have settled on what style of guitarist i would like to be!! I also notice that different GMC teachers do things in different ways to each other. For instance, some hold there guitar on there right leg, and pavel for example holds his classical style. Both ways of course work well for the player, but i get confused knowing which technique to use sometimes! After all, i want to be able to play like all the instructors combined There is not a lesson GMC i wouldnt like to complete to a high standard, and so can I really take a bit of everyones technique? or should i settle more into one genre. thanks! Well I think its choices like this that you have to make. Do you want to be a versatile guitarist, or one that can settle into only one style and play it fairly well.
