Rumour has it at the moment that Megadeth's Glenn Drover has either removed himself from the band or been kicked out by Dave, the speculation at the moment is that Chris Broderick former Nevermore live session musician has been hired to replace him in another Megadeth line-up switch. I cant access the official Megadeth website or find any 'official' statement but this is what's being said.
Heres a vid of Chris in action! Edit: Got my hands on the official statement from here! QUOTE In other MEGADETH news, the group has officially welcomed new guitarist CHRIS BRODERICK (Nevermore, Jag Panzer) to the band after parting ways with Glen Drover--which was hinted at back in November. "I've noticed [on the Internet] that people are pissed with me over the way things were handled with Glen quitting the group," says MUSTAINE, "but they're gonna be pissed even more when they hear how fierce we are with Chris! Megadeth is playing at a new level." BRODERICK will make his live debut with MEGADETH February 4 in Finland, where the group--guitarist/singer MUSTAINE, guitarist BRODERICK, drummer SHAWN DROVER and JAMES LOMENZO on bass--is kicking off a long string of international dates which wrap March 14 in Bangalore, India. Well isn't this interesting. I'm seeing them live in just over 3 weeks, lets hope he has time to learn all the solo parts by then.

He learned the solo parts to an entire Jag Panzer record overnight for rehearsal. Thats how Jag Panzer hired him And Jag Panzer's solos are more complex than Megadeth's solo's, I have no doubt that hell learn all of them, probably in just a week. I checked him out and he seems like a very very talented guy. I dont think he's quite Marty Friedman level, but he's not that far away, and definitely better than Glenn Drover. Good news is, it seems he's hard at work on learning the songs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UqbOtTzq3SY Dave's a lot better lead player than you give him credit for. Unfortunately not anymore, since he injured his arm he can't really solo as well as he used to :/ His right arm is just fine so he can riff as well as he always has, and that's good because Dave is one of the best rythm players in the world. |
