Here is an awesome lesson from Gabriel which nicely catches John Frusciante's style of soloing. Even if you are a complete beginner make sure to check some of these licks out.

Also - I would like to remind the more advanced players that playing tightly with great timing at a slow tempo is usually a lot harder than when playing fast. So those of you who want to improve your phrasing timming - this one is going to be great for you!
