GMC Forum _ GEAR & PRODUCTION _ Playing Guitar Trough A Multiefect On A Computer

Posted by: DenisN Jul 8 2009, 09:04 PM

Hi guys!

Today I bought Digitech RP255 multiefect. They say that you can record yourself with it trough usb interface. When I plug the usb in, I don't get any sound from my computer and winamp plays trough the multiefect!(I can hear that when I put the headphones into the multiefect). The drivers are installed and the hardware is recognized. Perhaps someone had a similar issue....

I just posted about something similar in Filips thread, i think your Digitech will work the same way

If you don't have Reaper yet, then download it (its free)

Plug in your Usb and turn the Digitech on.
Then start Reaper and go into the options,
Options>Preferences>Audio>Device There under Input Device you should be able to select your Digitech unit.
It migh have a weird name so try some out if you aren't sure, my PodXt is named "Digital Audio-interface (2-Li"

Then make a new track on the left, click the little R-button in the left of the trackinfopart,
You should see the visual sound wave thingys move now when you play your guitar (the greenyellowred sortof things in the track info)
Then you can just hit the record button on the bottem to record.

I don't think you will hear the sound out of your pc (maybe if you change some settings it would) but you can listen with you headphones from the digitech while you record.
