What was the very first guitar you owned? On which guitar did you learn to fret your first chord?

Post the guitar you have started to play on! Some may still have it or play on it but I guess it's interesting to hear what started our instructors' guitar career...

I was so stubborn and wouldn't let anybody tell me otherwise so I bought this one from my summer-job-money:

Attached Image

A low end Jackson with a VERY BAD FLoyd Rose copy tremolo.
Let's just say: V-body+Tremolo+Bad setup= not the best starter guitar to choose^^

It sounded fine but the tremolo was driving me crazy, it would go out of tune by just looking at it^^ I sold it as soon as I could afford a Epi Les Paul...

This is me playing my first guitar the first day I got it, and that's probably the only picture I have of it. That's only a bit more than 2.5 years ago though, but if feels like ages ago. Probably one of the happiest days of my live and getting a guitar is definetly the best decision I ever made. It's a Squire Showmaster. Insanely cheap and not very great, but still decent for starting out with.

Wow, this is unbelievable. I went to search for the first guitar I ever owned (I sold it on eBay) and it's been put up on someone else's web site. Those are my original pics and text from the eBay auction.

My first guitar ever was a Terminator by Synsonics! It had a built in speaker right in the body. I got it when I was about 13 or 14. I actually used it for the first few months I was on this site! I gave it to a woman I work with so her daughter could have something to play.

I've searched, but cannot find.. sad.gif My first guitar was a 70's model EVH replica made by Memphis. My grandfather bought it for me in the early 80's from a pawn shop that I re-pawned shortly after.. The seed was planted then and until a year and a half or so ago, started to grow.. smile.gif What I wouldn't do now to go back and play that thing daily!! wink.gif

The first guitar was a classical guitar my parents had.
My first electric guitar was a Westone Pantera which i loved and played for years. I have kept this one until it burned 2004 in a house fire ... RIP

Not an original photo, but same color and setup ..

I bought a black Squier '51.. It's a nice, cheap and unique starter guitar, but looking back I would probably have chosen something else

My first guitar was a no name which looked like a Fender. I've paid it $200 with an amp. So crappy, I used it for 3 months only and then dumped it and bought an Ibanez. smile.gif

My first guitar was an incredibly cheap copy of a stratocaster in 1992 (can't remember the actual brand) + an even cheaper transistor amp, which I both sold to the store when I bought my Ibanez RG770/Marshall JMC900 combo in 1993.

I have to look at my parents home to find some pictures though tongue.gif

I bought my first guitar when I was 16, a spanish classical guitar. Learnt the basic open chords & sang Springsteen songs with it smile.gif
I still have it.

One year later I got my first electric, a Fender telecaster thinline '69 reissue. I sold that one this year. Never really liked it! laugh.gif

One of those. I no longer have any parts of it, which is a little sad. I bought a very very very cheap ibanez AX-something to replace it, but even that instrument is a decoration in my mother's living room back in Philadelphia.

The Westbury was surprisingly nice. It stayed in tune just fine, the neck was quick, the action low. The pickups were a little scary and microphonic. I even yelled into them (for the distortion and digital delay) as part of the intro of one of our songs we performed in my crappy highschool basement rock band.
