Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi mate!! Nice to find this lesson here! I'm so proud of this solo. biggrin.gif

Good job here! You've learnt all the notes perfectly. Nice use of vibrato and tremolo bar! Your tone also sounds good for this one. The next step is to polish a bit your timing, and work on the shreddy parts so you can play them clean and tight.

I noticed that you tend to rush a bit some licks, mostly during the first half. This will be fixed if you dedicate some more time to the licks and to feel more comfortable with the phrases. You can also polish a bit all those licks and slides happening around 00:38.

Besides that, the sweep picking arpeggios are not precise. This is the only part that is not exactly as it's tabbed in the lesson. If you want to play it right, you should re-check.

And finally, the fast alternate picking ascending pattern which is inspired by John Petrucci need some work too. I think that it would be cool if you isolate these sections and work on them as exercises every day. That would be very cool!

Ok mate, you vid made my day! Keep on rocking.

Nice! Your playing is much better than I remember it, I smell some progress here 😎

You have a tasty touch, tone and vibrato - well done! Somehow your guitar gets a little bit drained in the mix, so maybe check that there aren't any low frequencies messing with you.

I think Gab described the technical parts you need to work on well.

I also have some thoughts about your posture. It seems to me that the whole guitar is shaking back and forth when you apply vibrato. I would personally find that distracting since the guitar is not balancing well on its own when you hold it [almost] vertically. But maybe that's just a habits thing, so take my advice with a grain of salt.

This lesson has high difficulty level, so to get a better grade here you need work on your accuracy in the technical parts. Nevertheless I enjoyed your playing and hope to see more RECs from you! 😎👊

Super congrats on learning this entire piece. I can tell you have put in some time on this and that's impressive. As Kris said, your playing here is much better than I remember. More precise. This is great to see. Progress is always a good thing IMHO. The issues have been covered so I won't repeat them. Gabe is spot on. You know what need to be fixed. This is a very hard REC so as Kris says, maybe pick a slightly easier one for next time on grading. Still I applaud your style in jumping in to a very very tough rec and just going for it. I enjoyed listening to it and that's really important IMHO. i didn't realize your playing had advanced this much so it's great to see!!
