GMC Forum _ GEAR & PRODUCTION _ Lindy Fralin Pickups?

Posted by: RobM Aug 20 2007, 09:34 PM

I own a Yamaha pacifica guitar and the Yamaha tech suggested that I purchase a aset of these pickjups for my guitar so I can better achieve that Strat sound. I was wondering if anyone out there had any experience with his pickups and what do you think of me upgrading my guitar?

I am still going to purchase an Ibanez RG2550E Prestige as soon as I get the $$, but I thought it would be nice to have a strat sounding guitar as my 2nd one?

What do you think?

PS: The pacifica is very easy to play, has great action and I think it would be a shame just to let it sit in the corner collecting dust when I get my new guitar, but the current sound leave a lot to be desired.

It would be a shame to just let that guitar go especially if its comfortabe and the action is nice.Never heard of lindy fralin but you definatly need to replace the pickups with something new.It will change the sound of that guitar im 100% sure ,especially if you like to play heavy you could just make it a completely new guitar.Check out some seymour duncans and go to there web site. Are you putting in single coils or humbucker's?Just replace them with something of high quality and u wont regret it

Yeah let us know if they are humbuckers or single coils. I can recommend pickups for the "strat" sound based on your pickup arrangement.
