.J'aimerais comprendre comment tu as fais.

Alright, to answer the first question - notice that the riff is built using notes that would outline a m7 chord - the m7 and the b3rd will give us such a flavor. So Dm pentatonic is fit to be used here smile.gif

Now about the Bm C G that could be a Phrygian progression if we look at Bm as being the 3rd scale degree of G major and that's where I think that those chords could derive from, otherwise I don't see a logical explanation to this.

In what regards slide playing - I am not very sure about what you are trying to ask - sorry about my poor French, but I don't get to speak it as often as I used to smile.gif But I would be glad to help out

Please let me know if everything is clear smile.gif

Cosmin

Thank you for your answer.

The riff is with D,A,F,C ,G and it's the Dm pentatonic's notes D/F/G/A/C ok i understand .

For the bridge i have G7M/ Am7 / Bm7 / C7M / D7/ Em7 / F#m7/5b and i have a D chords and not a Dm chords. I don't understand how i can built a song with a Dm Riff and find a chorus and a bridge easily.

About the bottleneck i don't understand how i can stop the noise of the other string when i play just one string. I try to stop the other string with my right hand's finger but on the stephane's video i can see that is right hand is close.

Bye

Hey

I think the answer in your question lies in how you can apply a minor pentatonic scale to a soloing situation.

The D minor pentatonic scale can fit over both a Dm7 chord, and a D7 chord, as well as a D chord.

When you play it over a Dm7 chord or key it will sound "minot" because it is outlining notes in the Dm7 chord, with the G as the 11th.

But, when you play that same scale over D or D7, it will sound "bluesy" because of the F, which is the "blues note" b3 against the D7 and D chords.

A good exercise to get your ears and head around this, is to put on a Dm7-D7-D backing track or vamp and solo over all three chords with the D minor pentatonic scale. You will hear that while you are playing one scale, it will sound different over each chord as the harmony changes and your scale stays the same.

Understanding how one scale can be played over different chords/keys might really help you out in this situation.

Very good explanation Matt smile.gif

Jessy - regarding the bottleneck playing, I can't quite point you in the right direction - never ever played using one before sad.gif

Hellow, I do not speak French but I'll answer with google translator.
Hi I'am Javier and I have a video with SLIDE https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/Slide-Rock/

My secret to mute the other strings when you play just one is to use your right hand palm muting after playing each note with the pick. Go slow at first but something patience.
Another thing that helps is often the slide lift and separate the strings every note, this is more difficult, I know.
Another thing is to choose the right scale with the bottleneck, try to avoid inclined intervelos between strings, I mean touching the scale may vertical interval and horizontal movements. Need some theory to explain, but I will in future videos for GMC not worry. You have to change the way you play the scales.
One trick to correct this is to use a more low frequecy sound, I select the treble pickup and put tone pot down.
Another way to help is to use a porcelain or glass bottleneck, something that sounds drowning.

Hope that helps. Greetings!
