+1 as Smells says. And to also add that it can help to vary the pattern so that pinky doesn't always precede or follow your 3rd finger ie:
--3 4 1 2---------------------------------------------------------------------- --4 2 3 1---------------------------------------------------------------------- --2 4 1 3---------------------------------------------------------------------- --4 2 3 1---------------------------------------------------------------------- --1 4 2 3---------------------------------------------------------------------- -1 2 3 4----------------------------------------------------------------------- etc etc. As ever - with a metronome . I see your point quite clear Eddie
The deal is,I probably putted to much into that lesson cause it's really hard to make straight line between levels,it really is... Until I make another lesson of that kind you should try this one at slower tempo, per example, advanced lesson at 120bpm might be intermediate at 80bpm or even beginner at 50,of course material inside would still be on advance level but you might be able to play it clearly at lower tempos. To be honest with you once more,I made this B major in bit faster tempo, then I slowed it down to make it more intermediate/beginner. All your efforts are well appreciated, keep practicing, you're doing great job Eddie!! -------------------- Youtube

I've played around 13-14 years and I've used mostly index, middle and pinky for 2 whole steps.
And as good exercise I sometimes use index, ring and pinky, for ALL shapes, semi and whole, whole and semi,2 whole etc. Since ring and pinky are well connected (hard to split tho) I'm trying to break that friendship here and there. So,if you feeling comfortable with your current fingering, why not to keep it? Paul Gilbert uses index, ring and pinky all the time but that's his personal choice and matter. -------------------- Youtube
